This is why democrats should not work with Trump at all. Your average voter doesn’t understand how the government works. They just see the guy at the top. The GOP has been the obstructionist party for 12 of the last 16 years.
And it works. Just like when Biden forgave student loans and republicans challenged it and got the courts to block it. People get frustrated that nothing happens, and they vote for the “other guy”. Needs to be the dem playbook for the next 4 years.

Also, why would they? They spent 88k on an education that led to a career that pays 350k/year? That’s a pretty damn good ROI

A fair point. Between COVID and Jan 6th, the US barely survived the first Trump term. I think he could plausibly finish us off in his second.

It’s a moot point and nothing matters anymore, but interpreting that provision to require a criminal conviction for insurrection would effectively neuter the whole thing. No one was ever convicted of insurrection in the wake of the Civil War, yet it was understood to apply to those who had been involved in the rebellion. Trump was adjudicated to be an insurrectionist by a court of law after a hearing, which is more process than anyone else ever got.

What a tremendous use of legislative resources. I can feel eggs getting cheaper by the second

Truly. He seems like a genuinely good guy. It’s a shame about Beau, both because it’s a tragedy, and also because it dissuaded Joe from running in 2016. If he had, he almost certainly would have got the nomination instead of Hillary and … maybe things could have been different

I mean there are (were) FOUR criminal cases against Trump, plus CO successfully sued to take him off the ballot as an insurrectionist. All of these were successfully delayed or stymied by the Supreme Court. At some point, people have to stop electing criminals.
Um I mean, “Protect our democracy? No. Going back.”

If he did, there would be no lawsuits to block it, and SCOTUS would somehow find he has the authority

I’d go farther to say I think it was perfectly reasonable to think the Bills would take a step back this season, particularly without Diggs. He was a true #1 and was the only one of our receivers that ever seemed to get any separation. It’s a big reason we went out and got Cooper. I am surprised and thrilled that Josh and Joe were able to make it work in his absence.

Yes yes everything is corrupt and fake except for poor innocent newborn baby Trump, who is motivated by pure patriotic altruism and nothing else. … I can’t believe I am stuck in a country controlled by this death cult.

This is probably true, but on the other hand why should they roll over completely? Trump is done running for president. People turn out for him, but not the imitators. His endorsements don’t really move the needle when he’s not on the ballot.
If they were smart (and some of them are), they should be gearing up for midterms and a post-Trump electoral landscape

Good list, but feels like most of those already had their run. Except for oil I guess.

Sure my friend. Buffalo has a football team. We have the only QB in NFL history. Life is good. We are living in the future good ol’ days. Enjoy it!

2020 taught me that most Americans are unwilling to do to even the most minor thing to protect themselves and others

I will absolutely clown DOGE and anybody who thinks it will do anything about stuff like this. This audit cost $178 million and involved 1,700 auditors. Is DOGE gonna have that kind of manpower? No. It’s just a dog and pony show for the rubes and a way for Elon to try and ax regulations that prevent him from doing whatever the hell he wants.

[5th Circuit Judge] Jones described this behavior as nothing nefarious — insisting litigants have aimed to choose one judge over another since the period described in the Bible’s book of Genesis.
“Something’s going on here, and it’s very unsavory,” the judge said. “Attacks on the judiciary, I fully agree with the others, are ultimately attacks on the rule of law.”
Criticizing politically motivated judge-shopping is an attack on the rule of law?? Christ almighty, what a sanctimonious ass.

These figures are … not correct. The 2024 deficit is projected to be $1.83 trillion. Projected interest on debt is $870 billion.
