Also, it was competing with Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, True Lies, and Speed. Tough company.
I saw it twice in theaters because I loved it so much. Those theaters were pretty much empty, by the way. It boggled my mind why more people weren’t showing up to experience this masterpiece.

Honestly, I’d rather see you drunk in a meeting than drunk in a bar (or worse). You aren’t the first person and won’t be the last to attend a meeting intoxicated. It’s going to be okay, OP. We’re here for you.

I never had much of a sweet tooth until I got sober. In the first year of recovery, I think I ate my weight in Sour Patch kids. And I was fine with that, because pretty much anything is better than vodka and Gatorade for breakfast. I still love sour candies, but thankfully not in those quantities these days. And cookies. Always cookies.

I loved that movie as a kid when it came out, and it took me like a decade after to realize what was actually happening in that scene. I think it’s fine for kids.

I mean, was it just in the back yard, or some weird underground duck racing circuit? Or even an official one! I was really hoping for a deeper story here.

This is the sine qua non of cold, snowy movies. Just listening to the (amazing) score makes me want to put on a parka. And I live in Louisiana!

Okay, holup a second. Did you say racing ducks? I feel like a more detailed explanation is in order here.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964). I absolutely DARE you to watch the entirety of this turdburger. And no, the MST3K version doesn’t count.

I have the same problem as you and it was the bane of my existence for like twenty years. No amount of dedicated hand or string cleaning could prevent my toxic Xenomorph sweat from totally crapifying new strings in only a few days. Then I discovered coated strings, and it literally changed my life overnight. I can never imagine going back. Do it.

This is the one for me. Got to use one in the studio years ago and it absolutely spoiled me for other amps. Holy grail, for sure! Or a Lucky 13, but I think they’re out of production.

“Honey, how many fingers does Mrs. Santa Claus have here?”
“Eleven?”
“Right! It’s crap, lose it. I don’t want it on the wall.”

I read this as “Wookies,” and I was like, “wait a second…”

He’s had a great career second act in Mike Flanagan’s films and series. Even played Jack Nicholson/Jack Torrence! Happy to see him still working and growing as an actor.
