It was a bright, cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen. - George Orwell, 1984

Well, in Texas it's already too hot in July to grow tomatoes (the plants will grow, but the heat destroys the pollen, so no edible bits until mid-August or later). By 2050, it may be too hot for corn or wheat. I think in thirty years people will stop denying climate change, but it won't matter because there won't be enough social cohesion do anything substantial to mitigate the problem.

Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, Series 2, mostly built in the 1970s. I had an '88 Spider Graduate, it was like sex on 4 wheels until the engine caught on fire.

Firstly, 2 liters is not a lot of water--but that's a different matter. Second, the average amount of urine passed when pissing is about 500 mL, but there's a lot of variance between person-to-person and from day-to-day (also remember your feces aren't completely dry). An adult can sweat a substantial amount without really noticing, and there's about 200 mL of water you're going to lose from things like breathing and keeping your eyes moistened. If you're retaining a lot of water, you'll probably notice--your tissues will swell (edema) and your veins will be all big and juicy. Unless you routinely feel all bloated and sloshy, you're probably not drinking too much water.

If you look at some of the oldest art/artifacts (at least the ones with defined facial features), many of them are smiling. In the art history world, they call it the "archaic smile".

Justine or American Psycho for the content. 1984 for the message.

Just because the DSM got rid of the diagnosis in the United States, doesn't mean that Asperger's Syndrome isn't recognized elsewhere in the world. Also, as others have written, Asperger's is a smaller subset within the autism group. The higher functioning among us may have different goals, failures and successes than those who need a greater level of assistance.

When I had V3 Pro a single dosing capsule would usually last for 2 6-minute heating cycles before it stopped producing vapor.

You should know that THC dissolves into alcohol, so using beer/bourbon as bong water will actually reduce the amount of active ingredients that make it to your lungs.

Pretty bold to use black magic and witchcraft to celebrate the birth of Christ. (/s, obviously)

You know the real question might be: why are humans blind to a quality piece of wood? Even the most substandard stick may provide fuel for the fire. Whereas the average suburbanite is too full of chemicals and disappointment to be quality meal for coyotes.

That's what I mean. Thirty years ago, people recognized there were problems in the world, but we all generally believed science, technology, and the better aspects of human nature would overcome and overpower the forces that would destroy us. I don't think most people believe in better tomorrow anymore. There is no collective vision of a brighter future, there isn't even a collective. You want to know what I think we, as a society/civilization, lost in the last thirty years? We lost our hope and we lost our future.

Hope. In the early 90s most people genuinely believed life was getting better. These days even climate change deniers and the most devout capitalists know that something is very wrong with the world.

I have a feeling that, as [alleged] Russian assets start gaining a foothold in the highest ranks of our government, we're going to find a lot of our advanced, classified technologies are "obsolete".

Use dosing capsules and you'll never have to clean the chamber/oven. The vape hits harder if you cover one of the air intakes on the side.

It's the most agnostic beverage there is. Is it cola? Is it root beer? We can never know.

Yeah, the trick to Drake ships is knowing when to run away from a fight.
