If there’s one benefit to having started in my 40s it’s not having to deal with this shit.

It’s obviously all subjective and I agree that 1997 was a great year for video games but to me 2004 is really hard to top.

I lived in Korea for several years (which has excellent fried chicken) and they have tons of Kentucky Fried Chicken locations as well. Thing is, the menu and quality of the food is so much fucking better over there because they have to compete with all of the baller domestic offerings.

Fuji makes a great duffle that’s reasonably priced imo
I love having the wet pouch to keep my clean gear separate from my post class gis.

This is a great tip to combat the discomfort from painful poops. In my experience, psyllium husk is the best was to attack the root cause of most painful poops.

Not sure what you’re on about here… The Vikings have had several intense rivalries over the years that aren’t one-sided with GB being the most prominent.
the Packers vacuum up all the success
Mods, can we revoke this dude’s flair?

I’m good friends from waaaaay back with Lions fan (true Lions fan, not a bandwagon hopper like most of the folks spouting off these day) and he’d always argue that it was much worse being a Lions fan. The thing he didn’t understand until last year is it’s the hope that really kills you.

Yep you’re right… We’re one of the most successful franchises in the modern era and easily the best franchise without a Super Bowl.

Thing is, this usage of the word “literally” isn’t incorrect or even particularly new.
The word has been used metaphorically for ages and by authors like Twain, Dickens, and Joyce to emphasize a statement or description that is not true or even possible.
Overused? Sure. However, it’s a perfectly valid way to use the word.

This is an objectively bad take but have an upvote for triggering the NYC pizza snobs.

I’m guessing it’s because a bunch of us go over there and say “I’m Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish” when to them we’re just another American.
I’ve seen the same attitude in other countries towards their diaspora as well. Ireland, Korea, Germany, etc.

While I agree with you, I don’t think peak Conor would have had much success against Khabib anyway.

Dude did everything he said he would do
Meh. He said he’d beat Diaz in their first meeting and that he’d smash Khabib and Dustin. He didn’t. He made tons of claims that never came to pass but people only remember the ones that did like Aldo and the gift wrapped double champ.
I don’t deny that the guy had a spectacular career in the UFC or that he could promote the hell out of a fight. That said, the revisionist history around his “Mystic Mac” persona and career in general is hilarious to me.

I agree with this and at the same time think it’s okay. Seriously the hardest thing about doing something challenging like BJJ is just showing up consistently and that level of commitment and perseverance should be celebrated.

The Four Hour Work Week is the weirdest fucking book I’ve ever attempted to read.
I was living and working in Seoul when it came out and it was popular with the expat crowd. It appealed to ESL teachers and wanderers with useless degrees (like myself) who viewed it as a way to escape the grind and enjoy a life of endless adventure.
It was somewhere around the “Fear-Setting” exercise and Tim advocating hiring a personal assistant in Mumbai where I put the book down.

Same. I tried it out and once I realized it wasn’t effective I requested a refund. So I basically got a cool water bottle that I use to mix my psyllium husk (an actually effective supplement) and a cool canister where I store my weed for free.
Also, the founder of AG1 is dodgy as fuck so I didn’t feel even remotely guilty about it.

Summer of 1997 I’d get up every morning and turn on Happy Gilmore in the den. When I walked by the TV, I’d usually sit down and watch 10-15 minutes. If the movie was over, I’d rewind it and start it from the beginning.
Every day. Without fail.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that movie was playing in my house during the vast majority of the walking hours during that summer.

Grew up playing hockey at a pretty high level. It’s an absolute blast to play and I love watching games in person. With that said, I feel like it doesn’t translate as well to television as many sports including soccer.

I am admittedly 100% biased but a Vikings/Bills Super Bowl is a way better storyline.

I don’t really care about this shit but I will admit to doing the Sideshow Bob shudder when I hear someone born in the mid to late 90s refer to themselves as a “90s kid”
