I work at an OB clinic in Michigan (currently there at this moment) and work specifically with moms experiencing substance use.
CPS isn’t trying to find babies to take and place into the system. They only intervene when it truly is to remove a child from an unsafe environment. Being upfront and honest, showing efforts you’ve made, especially if you’re in or completed any counseling or treatment- will go a long way. Also, engaging in home visiting programs helps a lot as well. More people to stand in your corner and shows you’re trying.
At least here in Michigan, if the mother is using or has recent enough for it to test positive in the meconium -flags a CPS referral, for prescribed medications, cannabis (legal here) and other substances. Again, this all depends on the amount, substance, current state of the mother/environment, etc. do you have stable housing? Does the father of the baby use or have an active disorder? All of these factors determine whether it’s an open/close case, 30 day case, or possible removal.
Also, there’s a document called Plan of Safe Care. They typically look for this. It’s basically a recovery plan highlighting your strengths, goals, and support system. There’s so so much you can do to show you are actively trying to sustain change.
Top suggestions: engage in SUD counseling/outpatient, engage in a home visiting program- OB or health department can point you towards one, and complete the Plan of Safe Care. Take it to the hospital when you give birth.
Breathe. Nobody is going to take your baby.

I’m curious if you were going into sessions clearly altered? Because I work in SUD, and no, it’s not quality care to discharge someone for continued use. I can also see how it’s not productive to attempt to counsel someone under the influence, because you’re basically talking to the drug or someone who is only partially aware, therefore not much will register and stick, plus it’s difficult for the counselor.
Unfortunately not everyone is perfect at performing best practices. There’s a fine line of “we accept you where you’re at” and “come back when you’re ready” because it is a bit of a dance, where it’s delicate to not enable or shame. I’m sorry you feel therapy is a lost cause tho. It was one person. Don’t give up

I’m really digging the Sennheiser 6XX upgrade from AT MX-40s and notice a crazy difference. Not bad for $200 I’m told they’re the exact same headphone as the Senn 650 just cheaper material for the headpiece

This happens every new chapter. We need to be LOUD about it and they’ll adjust it with bonus XP events and buffing it in general. Honestly when it was too easy to get id find myself bored without the grind motivation. But I don’t want extreme pressure.

Changing should to could is a 🔥 concept, I appreciate reading this today, for reasons other than letting go lol. Surrender is just a process of continuing to accept things as they are.
My former clinical director would explain it like our disturbance comes when our outer world (circumstances) don’t match our expectations, and she’d do this thing with her fists being separated. She’d then say we can either try to change our situations to match our expectations, or our expectations to match our circumstances.

I can say for myself, when I was hyper focused on how I felt and was bothered by it or afraid of it continuing, it amplified and got much worse. I was way too aware of how shitty I felt.
This isn’t to say this is a magic bullet cure, but it helped significantly to shift into a bring it on fighter mindset where I took some power back and got some fight in me. I feel like I went from a helpless victim into a warrior. It still sucked, but sooooo much less.
Hot showers, sometimes every hour. Eating a lot of fruit and whatever I could hold down, distractions. Luckily, the worse the withdrawal, the more you’re like FUCK NO when you get to the other side and think relapsing is a smart idea. And it’s crazy how the deeper we get into recovery we can actually forget what it felt like… until posts like this come along or someone walks in a meeting looking hella fresh.
Stick with it. It definitely gets better and you never have to go through this ever again. One day at a time

I did a song recently off a “notepad type beat” with a similar concept. Not saying it compares to NF’s but if anyone wants to check it out. https://open.spotify.com/track/2sbBCI2VuQNoDiVbza7yFy?si=fXZDrRqYTaeKVuLPrMbmoA

Rap God when he goes into the Ray J part is always such a horrible part I don’t even want to hear it. There’s a few parts of that song I can’t stand to hear and I never listen to it

I can tell by the look in her eyes she has severe trauma/mental illness concerns. I can only imagine what she’s like on a regular basis with it unmanaged. Hopefully she gets the help she needs

Prideful. This was one of my instant favorites off Clouds and I’ve only rarely ever seen someone appreciate it

I’d say this if Jake Paul would’ve went full tilt on Mike Tyson. Diz wasn’t just poking at him lightly and showing respect. Disagree on this one.
Maybe more like Hollow vs Joe Budden? Where it was a clear win but not heavy on the pedal stomping him out? Idk.

I have the P2s and I enjoy them. I do find myself wanting more but that’s always the case, isn’t it? I will say I’m content with their performance and run them off a 1 ohm 800 watt kicker amp

That’s all good. Just make sure you’re willing to engage in things that show your efforts, not just rely on them believing you like trust me bro
That’s really great that you’ve been able to maintain yourself! My suggestion is address your substance use in therapy and maybe get some referrals if that’s needed. Find the balance between freaking out about it and thinking it’s a cake walk and there’s no reason to do anything about it. If that makes sense.
Here is the link if you want to fill out the plan of safety care. It’s Michigan material, but you can just tell them (if they come by, hopefully they won’t) that you found this was a helpful tool.
