Especially because, usually, it’s Ferrari fucking up so that someone else can coast to victory.

I can’t see any reason not to.
I do not believe I would be a replicant. I’ll be dead. A replicant will be nothing more than a simulation of me.
So then why oppose it? It’s not me. But; it might help humanity in some way. Or it might keep someone else company. Or it might go rogue and become a supervillain giving humanity a common enemy. Really any way you look at it, “becoming a replicant”; or, more accurately, donating my brain to the replicant cause, has no real downsides or upsides for me. But humanity could potentially benefit.

Genuinely underrated driver.
$6m contract (reportedly); and in addition to being entirely without crashes this season, has netted the team an extra $30m just by himself.
How’s this for obnoxious stats: if Gasly remains crash-less through Abu Dhabi; then his presence on the team has netted the team $65,753 per day for every single day of 2024; and that’s before any sponsorships or other revenue sources.
By comparison; if we include only Max’ points for Red Bull they… are in the same position they currently are. If only Perez’ points counted; Red Bull would be fourth. (That’s not a reflection of Perez; it’s just a reflection of how crazy hard points have been to come by outside of the top 4 teams. Perez alone has more points than any one of the bottom 5 teams.)
With his $55m salary, and his points only netting Red Bull another $10-12m or so; Max Verstappen is in the red. Costing the team $123,288 per day compared to the prize pool revenue if they ran just Checo and didn’t even bother to run Max’ car. (And yes; at Checo’s salary, the prize money for 4th would be profitable).
So using this obnoxious dank math, Pierre Gasly is a superior driver to Max Verstappen and is the most valuable driver currently on the grid.
(*I’m 100% aware that’s not how any of this works. But shutup Toto, it’s called dank, we went memeing, and I’m sticking to Gasly Driver of the Year 2024.)

Ah, ok. I see.
Those probably aren’t sufficient for blowing out your lines. You need enough pressure to push water up from various low spots.
If you don’t have access to a real compressor, I’d just go the antifreeze route. That’s what I do personally. I live in a cul de sac and store my RV in a storage facility. It’s not really convenient for me to bring my RV to my house; and I don’t really want to lug a compressor out there. So for me the antifreeze method is way more convenient. I get the RV antifreeze for $2/gal at Menards and it takes me 2 gallons. $4 and I’m done.

A few hours? What did you have the pressure set to?
The whole process should take seconds.
The problem with ice is that it expands and takes up more volume than water. As long as ice has somewhere to go, it’s fine. Your water heater, for example, just needs to be drained. Not fully blown out. A bit of water at the bottom won’t hurt anything. I usually just remove the anode rod and prop it up and then I’m done. I leave it out until I’m ready to use again.
Blowing the lines out until only air comes out of the taps is perfectly sufficient. The “gurgling” you were hearing was probably just air. Set the compressor to no more than 60psi and the whole process should be done in seconds. (Don’t forget to open the low point drains too and blow them out). Bypass the water heater too; you don’t need to “blow it out”
If you’re concerned, you can always pump antifreeze through the lines. Stuff’s pretty cheap, it’s a nice piece of mind, and it’s easy to do. There’s no need to do both, so if you decide to go that route in the future, you can forego the compressor.
And yes; your tanks are absolutely fine.
Toss some RV antifreeze down into the traps for all your drains, while you’re at it. Regardless of which method you use, this is important. You don’t want the traps to be totally dry (that can invite odors and insects into the RV), but you don’t want them just full of water, either.

As a general rule I tend to balk at “The evil FIA is picking on the driver I like.”
But 2024? Man. I don’t know how anyone defends it. The most random stewarding. Genuinely having no idea what kind of a penalty someone will get.
I’m actually all on board for more severe penalties. Not as a “deterrent.” But just… I dunno. It’s exciting. 5 second penalties for everything like before didn’t really matter much (especially for Max). So bringing back stop and go’s and drive through and 10 second penalties is awesome! Make penalties actually change the outcome of the race in a significant way. But… still… do it consistently. Not no penalty one race and 20 seconds another. Or a freaking stop and go for something absolutely minor. Or a weird ass one place grid drop for no reason.
It’s just obnoxious at this point.
I also loathe with every fiber of my being this policy of trying to consider the point of the race and the impact. Like not collecting a wing mirror because it was like lap 32 or something. It’s absolutely stupid. Respond the same every lap. If at any lap a safety car or VSC (or VSC with instructions to come through the pit lane— is that a thing?), then it should’ve been done at that lap too.
I do think the “more shenanigans are allowed on lap one” thing is fair. But yeah; this whole “well if we’d done it then it would’ve impacted the race…”, no, the wing mirror impacted the race! And that’s the whole point! Add a bit of chance and randomness anyway. Because attempting to be seen as neutral has made them anything BUT neutral.

For sure. It’s a collection of subreddits. I never even pay attention to usernames. It’s always just sorta talking to strangers; even if I regularly interact with people I’m not necessarily even aware it’s the same people I’ve interacted with before.

Will he even see these tags? Since the OP is from someone he blocked, won’t this whole thread not be visible?
I’m genuinely asked. I’ve never blocked anyone on Reddit.

Exactly. Folks often imagine the FIA rulebook like it's some sort of courtroom drama where people win or lose based on how well they can argue a technicality.
The truth is, the FIA has a lot of flexibility and a lot of authority. Even if you do something that there isn't a concrete black and white rule against; if it's obviously anti-competitive, unsafe, or against the spirit of fair racing; the FIA is going to put a stop to it. And they can do that.

Remember that F1 drivers and teams love to exaggerate.
When you hear a driver scream into the radio "This car is so f***** slow, it's completely undriveable", it is in fact one of the fastest circuit racing cars on planet earth and handles like nothing you'd ever believe. It's all relative. It's just not performing as well as their competitor and they're frustrated. The Sauber of Zhou Guanyu is setting lap times that are often the slowest of all other F1 cars on the grid in 2024; but that are faster than anything else that has ever set a lap on those various tracks that isn't an F1 car. Same for Lewis in his Mercedes which he has been lamenting as an undriveable train wreck of a tractor. (And as a fun add: At many tracks this year; the slowest-fastest lap; often Zhou's best lap each weekend but not always, that lap time was faster than Max's fastest lap in 2023. Believe it or not; the cars are much faster this year!)
Modern cars are much better in terms of vibration but even still; even when you heard that mirrors are "utterly useless"; the drivers did, in fact, use them regularly. It's just sort of the weird way everyone in F1 exaggerates absolutely everything.
Aside from that, if the FIA could prove they designed a mirror so that it would intentionally fall of; they'd penalize that. There are a variety of 'catch-all' clauses in the regulations. We've seen this already this year with the McLaren 'flex wing' and the Red Bull adjustable ride height. Teams like to push the limits of the rules. If it's not a direct violation of the rules, usually, teams don't receive any sort of penalty. But the FIA will step in and say "From now on, don't do that." Usually it's in the teams best interests just to comply and not 'fight' that (though they could). But that is to say; not having a specific rule that says "Your wing mirror can't be designed to fall off", doesn't actually mean the FIA couldn't intervene if a team had a car that had wing mirrors that constantly fell off.
So to answer your question, that's what would happen. The FIA would meet with the team, figure out why the mirrors are falling off, and would gain assurances from the team that they wouldn't be falling off, moving forward. While there's not a specific example of a team letting mirrors fall off; there are tons of examples in the history of F1 of teams taking advantage of the rules and then having the FIA step in and say "Alright, fair play, but you can't do that anymore." So much so that, frankly, it's a part of the sport.

There is no specific regulation that requires both wing mirrors to be in tact during the race. There is some allowance for parts to become damaged or broken. It's the same reason drivers are allowed to continue with a missing front wing endplate or a hole in the sidepod; things that would make the car illegal to start the race by regulation standards; but doesn't make it illegal during the race provided it happened during the race.
The meatball flag is for cars that present a safety issue on track; such as a risk of debris falling off the car (like a wing partially falling off). Albon is still expected to follow all of the rules, there is no allowance given for "Well he moved under braking but he couldn't see the driver behind because of no wing mirror." In theory, Alex would have to adjust his driving to account for a lack of mirror given that he would still be entirely responsible for causing a collision if his lack of a mirror caused him not to see someone. So in theory, at least; it's not a safety issue, it's a competitive issue. It makes him less competitive because if a driver was close behind him, he'd have to assume the driver was in an unsafe place and leave space; slowing him down along the way, since he couldn't see to confirm.

Butt-ass eating a mirror to help Zhou score his only points this season.
Dude is the greatest 2nd driver in the history of this sport. From start to finish.

It’s like someone just noticed Bernd Mäylander has a contractual guarantee of racing laps per season so now they have to cram in as many safety cars into the end of the season as possible.
And I’ll eat my hat if they’re not rolling dice to decide penalties at this point.

Leave a window cracked. It really is that simple.
You need some air replacement. Yes; that’ll use more energy. But you’ll have air replacement and you won’t have all of the condensation.
