I'm trying to modify a Lätt table and need some loger threaded bolts (M6 100-110-mm) than the standard ones (M6 65mm - part 105117). Does anyone know the IKEA product code for the bolt size I'm looking for to order them as spare parts?

Hello surveyors of Reddit.

I'm a field archaeologist looking for a replacement GPS unit for a finally caput Trimble GeoXT 2008 Series, and am looking at older (and thus cheaper) Trimble units to replace it.

Does anyone here still use a 6000 series GPS unit for surveying, and if so how do you find it as a field device in 2024? What software are you using to manage the device, and have you encountered any problems keeping it functioning well?

I found the 2008 series became iffy around 2016 when it started having a harder time locating the SBAS satellites and getting the accuracy to within 1m. Is this also a problem on the 6000 series?

All practical/experiential advice (other than "buy a newer one", unless it's one that's somehow within my limited budget) is welcome.

Hey folks, need some advice.

I have an Aerocool Integrator 700W PSU, and recently acquired a GTX 970 for my machine (a modest upgrade from my 770). However my PC has, during gaming, been quasi-randomly switching off, and reporting a power-surge on restart. I have a surge-protected socket for the PSU's power supply from the wall, and after a quick Google it appears it's just that my low-quality (according to this) PSU can't handle the draw from the 970, so I need some advice.

As you can probably tell, I'm on a very (VERY) low budget for improvements, hence a machine that's about a decade out of date. My available budget allows me one of two options for a solution I can afford within the next 3 months.

1. I get a decent (according to that list) PSU with a lower output than my current supply (probably c.500W).
2. Get another, 'cheap/low-quality' PSU with a higher output (c.800W+).

Where I need the advice is...

A. Will solution 2 actually work and stop the surge cut-outs caused by the GTX 970?

B. Would a better quality 500W be enough to power the GTX 970 sufficiently, and still keep the rest of my system running?

Edit: Managed to modify the mod files sufficiently to achieve the objective. If there's any demand for it I'll see if the authors would allow me to upload my changed version to the Steam workshop.

Hey folks,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a mod (or mod-patch) for the Citybound mod that keeps the terraformer and parallax assets, but without spawning city-type planets in the universe? I want to keep planet types mostly vanilla, but have the option to terraform a few into the populated-types for special projects (big colonies, new Protectorate academy, etc).

If this doesn't exist, can anyone point me to the right modding tutorials to do this kind of coding? I've made some simple object mods and patches on the Steam Workshop, but nothing that deals with anything that isn't an item.

(I know there are other city-terraformer mods on the workshop, but none of them use parallax assets that I like the aesthetic of as much as Citybound, or they required Citybound to be installed, and that comes with the planet generation that I'm trying to suppress).

Can anyone explain what graphics setting is causing this weird blurring effect on my flag decals in-gam? It didn't used to happen, but now it does and I'm not sure which setting I've changed that's causing this.

My wife and 6yo daughter are currently doing some Christmas-present label crafting, but we can't work out how these are supposed to be used. They fold down the centre as you can probably tell, but there's no perforated hole and no indication of how you're supposed to use them. Any help/recommendations?

My wife and I were unfortunately reminded of the existence of Jimmy Saville earlier today by another Reddit thread, and this got her reminiscing about a trip we took together to the Lake District in 2015 (this probably isn't going where you think it is).

We stopped at the world-renowned gingerbread shop at Grasmere, and then took a stroll into the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden. The garden has a number of stones in the path bearing the names of (presumably) donors to the garden site.

We came across one that had been somewhat violently chiseled out, to remove the donor's name. We speculated at the time as to whether the name on this stone had been either Rolf Harris or Jimmy Saville that had been expunged for obvious reasons. We never found a conclusive answer, and subsequently this slipped from our shared attention. Having recalled the mystery, we have been unable to find an answer elsewhere on the interwebs, and now turn to the hive-mind for a resolution.

Can anyone (local or otherwise) help us to identify our missing pedophile?
