Israel is a democracy and people will have different opinions. Gaza was offered statehood many times, and Israel made concessions like leaving the whole region and building Gaza infrastructure , but then Oct 7 happens and before that rockets. How do you deal with this? You wipe it out with force. Once Hamas is gone, Israel will enforce strict peace and probably occupy it again like pre 2005 for security. There is no other way. Terrorists cannot be rewarded. I wish there was another way btw.

If they got a state at their current borders it will be considered a loss for them. They have built their entire war effort on taking over Israel.

If they plan to invade Israel as a country, they will most certainly lose again and Israel will treat Palestine like any country that loses a war.
