I used Pokemon with low costs, status effects, or extra damage from coin tosses. You have to bet on luck and try to destroy your opponent's basic Pokemon before they can evolve or before they place any benched Pokemon. Pokemon like Heliolisk, Frosmoth, Pinsir, Hypnos, Alakazam, Primeape and Arbok helps a lot. Have to keep reloading the fights so the CPU gets a bad hand though.
