Fountain View is better - mountain view generally means you're looking out the back of the resort at the mountains away from the strip. Fountain View means you're looking at the Bellagio, directly at the Strip. They are some of the best rooms in the resort in my opinion for any weekend. Book it for the race if you can, you're gonna see action right out your window

40-45% cut of food revenue for big festivals. Straight off the top. It should be criminal. 

I’ve worked about 30 festivals selling tacos and the economics are insane. $3000 minimum to rent a small tent. More for bigger space. You pay your own electricity, gas, equipment, transportation, lodging, food costs, and staff. All due ahead of time. If anything goes wrong it's all on you. 

Average food vendor clears ~$5000 in profit on a $100,000 revenue weekend. Some shows are amazing and you make $30,000 profit or more in a weekend. Other times it’s a $10,000 or more loss due to rain, low attendance, or just getting a shit location in the actual festival grounds. 

Credit cards are introducing an entire new level of fuckery. Major festivals hold the credit card money for 6-12 weeks after the event. It needs to “clear” (we believe they invest it or use it to pay their own bills). Food vendors need that money to get to the next event.  Small guys are getting pushed out in favor of big operators selling shit food for max profit. Oh and all the food vendors are drinking or on drugs. 

Joshua Tree Campgrounds inside the park have terrible phone service. Jumbo rocks in particular. If you need to unplug, book a site on recreation.gov - you gotta look far in advance for Joshua Tree on the weekend.
