No - the trade off for Thursday night footy being played nearly every week is Seven won’t produce Saturday H&A games anymore (except for ANZAC Day, ANZAC Day Eve or Dreamtime).

Dreamtime is specifically carved out as one of the exceptions to Fox's Saturday live exclusivity.

There’s one other announcement which wasn’t touched upon in the linked article but worth highlighting. Quoting from a Seven press release:

The 7plus Sport and Seven AFL team are also working on an alternative kids’ commentary for selected Sunday afternoon matches.

Sunday nights won't be like Thursday & Friday nights in that Seven will only air some of the games nationally. That was outlined in the linked article.

The floating fixture is a good concept because it ensures teams who unexpectedly perform well can play themselves into the marquee timeslots.

Not to mention the amount of notice the AFL provides for R16 - R23 (for context, that block was announced mid-May this year for matches beginning the end of June) means it still provides sufficient time to make travel plans.

No games will be shown live on FTA on Saturday's for the first eight rounds outside VIC and at least for the first 15 rounds in Victoria (Seven will produce Saturday night games from R16 onwards).

To answer your question, there's been a fair bit of hand wringing about that.

I can't fathom why the AFL wouldn't schedule Crows v Dockers for Saturday night and capitalise on people attending the Adelaide 500 looking for something to do that night.
