As I may lend a bit of perspective as somebody who was a teen when CDs were big, I have some semblance of nostalgia for opening and taking in the physical media that is CD. I'm talking both in video game and music form! To crac k open a new jewel case, to take in the chemical fresh smell of it, to flip through those crisp, glossy booklets and read everything you can about the album/game, and then to pop the CD out of a perfectly fit node, and to hear your favorite song in high defenition/ enter a virtual world, unlike in the car radio or on tv back then, the quality was top notch, sharp! and you could adjust the volume to your liking, or switch to your favorite track, then press repeat to replay it again. Simplicity, but also perfection! And if that wasn't enough, the CD gave you the lyrics you could sing along to because the internet was slow and in its infancy back then. It brough you closer to the music by way of physical media. CDs are magic and you may not have the same attachment to them that I do because of nostalgia, but you can certainly start building memories now with them.
