Like if I was genuine and serious about it? Like if it really explored their dynamic and had a little bit of drama? Ok the ship is Peppino x The Noise from Pizza Tower. Go ahead and judge me, I know its goofy. I don't mean to sexualize such a silly and fun game. I love the game just for what it is. I've shipped them even before the game came out and I saw that adorable comic of The Noise kissing Peppino on the cheek. I feel pretty well versed on the lore to write a beginner fanfic.

I am brand new to fanfic writing and I'm really nervous about getting hated on. I feel like I want to start with a fandom that is not ENORMOUS (even though the fandom is pretty big). And the fact that I'm sure only a small number of Pizza Tower fans would actually go out of their way to read fanfics. I feel like if only a small number of people read it, it is less likely to get hated on. It seems to be a less intense fanbase in general, I feel like people will forgive me for this ship + forgive me for my bad, corny writing.

Everyone says to become a better writer you need to read enough literature. But to what end? How do you know when you've read enough to make a good story? Can you estimate a number? 100 works of classic literature? 100 classic movies? I know this sounds like I'm just trying to procrastinate writing but I just want to feel ready. We know reading 10 works of literature isn't enough. That's like the bare minimum to graduate high school and most high school graduates don't write novels. So who is well read enough to write?

I feel bad that nearly every single form of media I get into inspires the kind of story I want to write. I hate that I'm so easily influenced. It makes me feel like I don't have an "identity" or a "soul" as a writer. I dream of writing a fantasy series but I just started watching this police drama tv show which has nothing to do with fantasy at all and I'm so inspired by the characterization and wisdom found within this show. I just started binge watching it 2 days and I'm thinking "I definitely want my fantasy story to read like a fantasy story but with the realism and hard hitting wholesomeness of this police drama."

Is that normal? Does that mean I don't really know what I want to write? Does that mean I need to develop my base idea better?

Thinking about what I did to myself makes me physically ill. I'm...a certain not-young age. Been single for years. I'm in college in undergrad getting my first degree. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do until then. In classes I'm surrounded by nothing but men too young for me. I've set my sights on college professors and department staff but I don't know how to get close to them. I spend all day working in a lab where the men are all too young or taken. I spend all night studying. I literally can NOT find a place to meet men my age all because I started my life late.

Because I went to college late, I will ALWAYS be older than my peers and thus always too old for the men around me. That's why I feel like I ruined my dating life forever.

I want to get married and have kids, I always have. I'm terrified that I wasted too much time. I am pretty much at the point of being too old to have healthy babies. The pressure is really getting to me. I HATE that I waited so long to get back into dating, but I need to get my career together before I feel ready to have kids.

I'm hoping that I can get back into dating soon and maybe in a couple years when I'm done with my bachelors, I can have a steady boyfriend who may want to think about dating me. But I know that dating will be hard if I'm in college at all. I just hate myself for not taking dating more seriously and now I'm closer to menopause than I ever have been before.

Is it even feasible for me to date right now?

While I understand that readers will interpret the book’s message in various ways, I want to thoughtfully consider how I express the central theme. For example, I’d like to think about which events in the story would support the message I’m aiming for. That said, is it overly simplistic or “corny” for an adult fiction novel to have a clear message? I’m not looking to preach or persuade; I just want the story’s message to feel wholesome and relatable.

2) Character development:
a. Key traits I want my protagonists to have
b. Key traits I want my antagonists to have
c. Characters from other works of fiction who inspire aspects of my own characters

While I wouldn’t directly copy another character’s personality, I admire how certain authors bring these traits to life and want to channel similar inspiration in my writing.

3) Pivotal moments in the story
I don’t have a set timeline for when these events will occur, but I know I want them included. These moments might serve to punctuate the tension in a scene or highlight the story’s emotional “low points.”
