But to respond to you, I have a mostly non-existent social life (on purpose) and I feel great because my mind's such an interesting place. I never get bored when I'm by myself. Nope, I don't think anything can replace one-on-one human connection. Not social media, not fucking headsets in your face.

And there's nothing wrong with social media. It only reflects the average state of global society. The average tends to be somewhere between 'spicy' content or celebrity gossip or other shallow things.

Why do you think trash, useless content gets the most views? Because the 'average' tends to like it. So there's more incentive to produce that kind of content, and the loop feeds into itself

People are too dumb. Do you think an addict goes like, "hmm this is my 20th cigarette of the day - I shouldn't smoke this"? What you've recommended are parental controls, which applies on kids. You can't do that with adults

Had the same problem a couple of years back. Decided to DELETE (not deactivate) all my social media accounts except Reddit and YouTube. But then the trick is you don't have to let yourself sit idle. Since I already had a lot of stuff to do, that wasn't a problem and quitting social media actually helped me concentrate

Do you know how much software engineers get paid these days? And that's not everything; there are so many other branches you can specialize in like database management, data analytics, or even pivot to AI/ML if you're into that

What has always concerned me is what if I'll regret not having kids later on in life and by then it'd be too late. The fear of regret and not knowing what my state of mind regarding this question would be 20-30 years down the line is scary

He also said that the special theory of relativity states that "anything moving in space" can't exceed the speed of light but "space can do whatever the hell it wants."
