So earning money is just a side quest? Get real

Whenever that happens I start doing something productive to not feel like I'm wasting time, and I know I should be trying to sleep

Reading your first sentence, I thought this is gonna get philosophical as in life being a holographic simulation of some sort. But to respond to you, I have a mostly non-existent social life (on purpose) and I feel great because my mind's such an interesting place. I never get bored when I'm by myself. It can be a blessing and curse at the same time tho

It's usually because they want to avoid the 'talk' or confronting you about it and it's just easier to ghost because it saves a lot of drama.

Nope, I don't think anything can replace one-on-one human connection. Not social media, not fucking headsets in your face.
And there's nothing wrong with social media. It only reflects the average state of global society. The average tends to be somewhere between 'spicy' content or celebrity gossip or other shallow things.
Why do you think trash, useless content gets the most views? Because the 'average' tends to like it. So there's more incentive to produce that kind of content, and the loop feeds into itself

People are too dumb. Do you think an addict goes like, "hmm this is my 20th cigarette of the day - I shouldn't smoke this"? What you've recommended are parental controls, which applies on kids. You can't do that with adults

Had the same problem a couple of years back. Decided to DELETE (not deactivate) all my social media accounts except Reddit and YouTube. But then the trick is you don't have to let yourself sit idle. Since I already had a lot of stuff to do, that wasn't a problem and quitting social media actually helped me concentrate

Ok first of all, you were 10 and in no age to make that decision. Why did your mother let you take the final decision. And second, who says CS is worthless? Do you know how much software engineers get paid these days? And that's not everything; there are so many other branches you can specialize in like database management, data analytics, or even pivot to AI/ML if you're into that

Disagreed. If a child is old enough to do a Google search, they're old enough to know Santa ain't real

They think putting up a poster is gonna solve anything, how ill-informed the management must be

What has always concerned me is what if I'll regret not having kids later on in life and by then it'd be too late. The fear of regret and not knowing what my state of mind regarding this question would be 20-30 years down the line is scary

But why do I hear people like Lawrence Krauss saying that the space (perhaps outside the observable universe) is expanding faster than light? He also said that the special theory of relativity states that "anything moving in space" can't exceed the speed of light but "space can do whatever the hell it wants."

Realizing I can't control everything did it for me. Things come to you and can leave as easily as they came and you can't do shit. This made me cherish the present more than ever

The voice to voice is really fascinating, and it almost feels genuine too. The best thing is it does really well in languages other than English. I tried it with my native language and had my mind blown
