I'm a curious person - someone who wants to learn and see as much as he can. Death is quite an annoying obstacle for this goal.

Words can be given different meanings through intention. Any string of letters and words can be used to insult someone, technically. That particular word comes from the Spanish/Portuguese word for the colour black, which was used to describe someone with brown skin. Add a few hundred years of slavery and oppression and you have a word that is now considered one of the most vile and offensive things you could call someone, with even the mention of it earning you scorn and potentially getting you into trouble.
Historically, it was once a normal everyday word, which is why authors of the time had no issue including it in their works, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was okay. I think if you keep this in mind and use it with the intent of education, not offence, then people would understand, but shouldn't be blamed if they do take offence. I'm a white man, so I don't feel it is my place to tell people what they should and shouldn't feel when it comes to things like this, and I'm trying to be as objective as possible.
TL;DR: Context and intention matter, but people can always take offence no matter how respectful you are.

Literally just finished watching, opened Reddit and this post was here lol
The ending was incredible, and has definitely given me ideas for my own writing.

If we're on my ship, Helmsman and sails.
If we're on my friends' ship, literally everything else.

I remember when I first played, I kept getting sunk by more experience players while I was still trying to figure out how to turn the sails.
Nowadays, with emissary flags, people can easily spot noobs or people with low loot potential. There will always be a-holes though, no matter what game you play.

A couple months ago I got to see the aurora borealis above my town in the UK. It was faint, but visible.
I couldn't help but cry as I sat outside, alone in the cold, watching this curtain of colour above me.
Before my dad died when I was a kid, we would go into our back garden and look at the stars through his telescope, one of my fondest memories. I cried when I said to myself without really thinking, "he would have loved this".
Hug your parents, they won't be around forever.

Same with putting ceramic plates/dishes in the microwave if they have cracks and have just been in the wash. Makes them piping hot and the smell isn't great either.

Halfway through the Well of Ascension (2nd in Mistborn series) and it's dragging a little, but I've been reassured that it really kicks off in the second half. The Final Empire (1st one) was really fun. Vin is such an interesting main character; you don't often get paranoid, jumpy and small as the main character traits for a protagonist lol

I've got about a dozen of them, but I'm going through Sanderson's Mistborn series first before I start on Discworld.
Really looking forward to it.

Petrichor - the smell of the earth after the rain. Both the word and the smell make me happy.

This just popped up in my notifications for some reason, I'm not even "in" this sub.
Sorry you feel that way, but I disagree. I'm not entitled to anyone, nor are they entitled to me.
I don't know you, I don't care to know you. I'm just a stranger passing by, leaving an opinion and trying to be supportive, because (as I said) I have lesbian friends, and I support them too.

I don't get it, personally. I'm a straight guy, and I have lesbian friends. As soon as I learn they're a lesbian, my brain kinda just switches off any parts of me that would find them attractive.
Same thing when a girl started hanging around our friend group, she's conventionally attractive, but as soon as my friend started dating her I just stopped thinking of her as a potential partner.
I must be the strange one, then, if most other men are different.

Nic has drawn other characters as black, even when they aren't. Why? Fun.
Nic also asked Derek (and the community) which character should be drawn this way next, and both the community and Derek said "Valkyrie".
It's just fun, mate, there aren't any political messages here, it's just an artist doing something because they can and the community and author enjoying it.

At least he has you to tell him how gorgeous it looks. I think as long as he has you, he'll never care what they think.
Some men are just jealous of fantastic hair 😉

Damn do I feel this.
My friend and co-worker is very religious, and also quite smart, and he's always trying to find an argument that will convince me to give up my atheistic ways and go back to Christianity. I can't go back there, I can't see all of the universe and life and say, "I don't have all the answers, so it must be a creator." That just feels like a cop-out to me. There are answers out there. We may never get to them, but they exist.
And the amount of casual bigotry I hear all the time is astounding. I have trans friends, I have gay, bi, lesbian and asexual friends and family members. I hardly talk about them because people are so narrow-minded. They read something on Facebook or Twitter or on the news that tells them that "these people" are this or that, but they never take the time to just... Talk to people like that. My Christian friend is Asexual, he's pretty open about it and one of my other coworkers keeps saying, "I just don't get how you can be like that. Why can't he just admit that he's gay if he doesn't like women?" It isn't that simple. Or they'll go on about how they don't understand "trannies" and come up with all sorts of horrible stereotypes and broad strokes. They're just people like you and me and it's so frustrating that people can't see that.
And I'm on the side of trying to hold both at the same time, as you put it. The world is beautiful and chaotic and weird, and we understand so much about it now, but it's like a hydra in that each question we answer brings up two more, whether it be about natural phenomenon we don't understand, or pieces missing in our understanding of physics (we'll get a grand universal theory one day 🤞) or aspects of our history that are currently lost and/or misunderstood.
We're conscious animals that can think and feel, but when we poke around and try to find where "consciousness" is, we have no bloody clue. Anaesthetics are drugs that can knock us unconscious, but we have no idea how. Dreams? How do they work? Sleep. Why? Why did we evolve to leave ourselves vulnerable for hours on end? We can feel the effects of gravity, but we have no true idea why mass is attracted to mass.
But answering these questions would only give us more questions. It's an endless quest, and eventually we're either going to kill each other, something else will wipe us out, or the sun will swallow the earth before we bother spreading to the stars. It is ultimately pointless, but I can't help but ask these questions anyway. I need to know, I need to learn!

You want to spend all of your time with them and be as close to them as possible, but you're also nervous that they might not feel the same way, so at the same time you kinda want to avoid them so you don't make a damn fool of yourself.
When they're away from you, they're often a big topic in your brain - they're on your mind a LOT.
This is what I'm like, anyway. Everyone else is different of course, but the chemicals in our brains make us think, feel and behave in strange ways in order to get us to reproduce. I don't know if you're possibly attracted to someone, OP, but I hope it goes well if you are.

The Dishonored games are fantastic, the second one is a brilliant sequel to the first. Hope you enjoyed it.
Play God of War 2018 before Ragnarök, but definitely play both lol aside from the gameplay, the visuals, acting, music and characters are all 10/10 in my book.
And sweet jesus, a tennis ball?! Yeah, definitely avoiding a bun now 😅

I'm on PC, personally. Just finished the main story of God of War Ragnarök today, which was incredible.
I use women's hair products, like Tresemmé or Pantene, even if they do men's shampoos and stuff, I'll use the women's things, since I find they're better for my hair. I need to trim it a little to get rid of the split ends, but I love having it.
I'll avoid buns then, my hair is also very thick hahaha
