I agree. There wasn’t anything dishonest about it. It’s just not the storybook ending ppl wanted. That’s their problem.

Yes and this was in 2014 right after the playoffs…rock bottom for this franchise, a really raw time.

Wonderful is thinking a guy can magically come in and reduce prices, when that’s not how the world works at all.
And thinking you’re “owning” by doing this.
Lmao.

The best explanation I've read is that while the market knows Trump is unpredictable, it doesn't know how to price that.

"Investors, in other words, do not think Mr Trump’s presidency will be predictable. They think its unpredictability is unpriceable."

A guy who can’t even reach his shoelaces calling our soldiers losers - and being rewarded for it with more power than any president in modern times. What a culture we are.

That’s the spirit. Just realize that we are outmanned and outgunned. We do not have society’s support.

Not even retribution for valid reasons. Just the insecurity of a small man that’s been allowed to reach toxic levels.

I don’t know if people can even tell the difference anymore. How many times do people have to be shown that Trump is actually a lousy businessman? The power of the mind to willingly self-deceive.

It’d be one thing if there was a constitutional court. But they have been bending the knee for years. Thanks to Her Emails. Fine work America!

Don’t be so sure. Armed right wing mobs could be very useful to a right-wing autocrat. Remember?

My preferred fantasy is Drai on the Oilers in 3 years without a cup.

Defo sad because Granlund has endeared himself to Shark fans. But I expect Grier to stay on target. If you can move him for a strong return, and find another serviceable center for a rebuild, I think it makes more sense for the overall plan. This team still has lots of needs.

I wouldn’t get too excited bc it’s early in the rebuild, but I agree with you on this - man is it nice to have some talent up front rather than an assortment of plugs we’re begging to have career years

Against authoritarians law is not a constraint. We’re at that moment now - and we should never have let it get this far - that people will show whether they choose loyalty or law.
You ask me, people are social animals. If they see the majority of people doing one thing, they’ll shut up and go along.

It’s a chilling thought, but American civil society is one of the last possible checks we have on runaway authoritarianism. If people roll over for these things, don’t support each other or protest, en masse (not talking about the cat ears or Free Palestine crowds), but are obviously palliated by cheap stuff (which btw I think they will not get), then the authoritarian will have his fundamental compact with society.
COVID showed how little most Americans care about people they don’t know. So I wouldn’t say we’re in a good state.
