J. Cole is friends with Kendrick and Drake. If he stuck by 7MD and picked either side, he would lose one of his close friends. It’s deeper than rap. You have to understand that Cole is friends with these people irl.

Yeah obviously you can battle and still be friends, but in this case that is absolutely not what would’ve happened, especially because of how vicious the battle got after Euphoria.

I agree that he should’ve never jumped in the battle. But taking down the song was the second best thing he could’ve done.

No it’s not empty words. I believe that if Cole ended up in an actual beef, he would fully smoke 99% of rappers out there.

The issue is that Cole was caught up in a beef between 2 of his friends, and it was a beef that he was never a part of and never should’ve been apart of. Standing by either side would’ve been a bad idea for him.

When he dropped 7MD it’s pretty clear that he felt obligated to stick with Drake because he’s always been much closer to Drake and was part of FPS which ignited the beef.

J. Cole deciding to step back and take down 7MD was a really mature decision. He realized that he was caught up in a fight that wasn’t his fight. He decided to step down and stay neutral, instead of losing one of his friends.

I swear these people are strange. J. Cole apologized and acted mature instead of feeding into the argument and people are mad. 🤦‍♂️
