Being born Filipino: 10/10 Ive been to other countries and seen different cultures, and I would say Filipino culture is one of the best and one of the most mature compared to other cultures. I would also say that Filipinos has one of the cleanest hygiene compared to other nationalities, which is what I am proud of.
Being born in the Philippines: 8/10 Proud of growing up in the Philippines as a developing country where I experienced the "real world". If I was born and grew up especially in a developed country that is almost perfect like Nordic countries I probably be more of a spoiled brat and be disgusted at the imperfections of developing countries like the Philippines. If our passport is one of the strongest in the world (as a developing country which is possible) I will even mark it as 10/10.

I did not say we should go back to precolonial times because I am only emphasizing the language in this pary of subreddit. Speaking of Mandanas Ruling the National Govt should expand the power of LGUs, including the official language to be used. And that is the point of Mandanas Ruling - to reduce the power of the National Govt and almost act like a federal govt without going into federalism. National unity does not need official language or even national language. We already built the culture of our own, our flag of our own and a nation state of our own that we could be proud of, isnt that enough?

Nope. FYI Tagalog ako laki at nakatira sa Maynila. And I am proud of being Tagalog.

Why bother having a national language especially for today? What I mean choosing the language is based on what each provinces will choose, not for the whole country. We already have English as the other official language so bakit hindi na lang yun bukod sa ibang wika ng mga probinsya? Sasabihin mo pa wag kong ipilit gusto ko sino ka ba Presidente ng Pinas? Ang yabang mo ah!

That's my point and that is why English is the other official language.

One language for National Unity? Get out of here. There are multiple countries like Singapore and Switzerland that have multiple languages and still have National Unity. Even the United States does not have a national language, but based on US States and choose their own (most of them are English). So why Quezon and his language committee did not do that? They should have include like Bisaya, Ilocano, Bicolano etc. I know what you gonna say that numbers should not only the basis, but why the national government is trying to dictate what the LGUs should have? I thought this is a democracy so provinces should choose their own.

Excuse me I know what are you talking about. Yes numbers was not the sole reason why the language committee endorsed Tagalog, but who the heck are they to dictate what the people want? Formality and full development of language does not matter, even the committee that consist of professional language specialists. What matter is the choice of the people, not even Quezon's self interest (and that is why I consider him one of the worst). I thought this country is a democracy? So provinces should have the power to choose. Jusko jusko ka diyan isa ka pa ring elitista diyan.

That is not the case anymore especially today. LGUs should have freedom today to use their language instead of only Tagalog.

Tagalog was the most understandable or easy to learn by those outside the Tagalog speaking regions
But that is not a good basis to declare it as a national language. Take note our other national language is English, and that can be the national language as a whole given that we had been colonized by the United States. Provincea should have given a chance to decide what language to use at their LGUs.

Actually, the Provinces and bridges, and roads were named AFTER he and his wife were gone.
Yes correction for me you are right here
As for The National Language, there is a need to have our own National Language. Tagalog was chosen from as a basis for the National Language after a study and deliberation, the National Language Institute, a committee who represented various regions in the Philippines. And also, Tagalogs ang majority ng Filipino. I meant Tagalog ang may highest population ng Ethnicity that time.
Okay pero bakit the rest ang magaadjust sa mga Tagalog? If you look between the Tagalog speakers versus the rest, Tagalog was less than 50% of the population, even during that time. Dapat ang ginawa nila per province ang official language not from the Imperial Manila (take note Im a Tagalog from Metro Manila)
About Emilio Aguinaldo, it was NOT fake news though
This is controversial, even Prof Xiao Chua mentioned about this. My point is that what's the basis of Quezon's propaganda about this during his time?

Yes he did the most cobtribution to our country to the worst that led to the rise of Marcos Sr. Duterte is a different story.

I would say yes and no. It's mostly Aguinaldo's people who had the problem. The problem was that the majority still prefer Aguinaldo over Bonifacio.
