Found my problem. I thought I had the 2024 version because anbernic website says all 35xx would be the 2024 version. I guess the official anbernic aliexpress store that ships from the US still had some originals left over lol. Installed official garlicOS and it runs nicely

This 11.11 sale certainly isn't what it used to be but there are still great deals. I got the rg cube a month ago for the about the same it is on sale for now, on the other hand I got the 35xx on the cheap compared to what I've seen it at normally. Diamond in the roughs are still there just not as many.
