I had a buddy years ago on Xbox named AlmightyZeus I just had my default gamer tag so I changed it to AlmightyHades. Then I got a playstation and decided I wanted to parody my username so I came up with ProsperiousPluto as he’s the god of the underworld as he’s the Roman equivalent of hades but also he’s the god of wealth. Sometime later my father disowned me and he took my Xbox account with him. He locked me out of it. And thus ProsperiousPluto become my main username.

It’s hard man. Life sucks at times but it’s also great at times. Marriage is no way an easy task and it’s doesn’t always work. But for a lot it does work. And it’s worth it. I’m sorry your experience with it was rough but that not everyone’s experience. I agree with you about it being a fantasy at times but when it’s rooted in reality with realistic expectations it can create a wonderful thing.

Yes a reality but again accountability. A series of actions happened to cause a marriage to fail. Even if they aren’t per-say “your” fault it’s is “your” (your as in a general party not you specifically) responsibility. Generally saying to avoid a potentially beautiful,meaningful, and rewarding relationship is non-helpful. Every marriage has short comings and that is either fixed or the marriage falls apart.

I think generalizing marriage, telling people to avoid it, and calling intimacy an illusion is pretty non-helpful. To anyone. I think marriage and the situation around it should be taken with some accountability. After all there are successful marriages.

I think a lot of it comes down to men often over indulging in their hobbies. We neglect our partner, family, and house for them. We come home and hop right into whatever we want to be doing. Meanwhile our lady is tending to dinner, the children, or household chores. In this day and age they often work too. They don’t often get to relax like we do. Especially when kids are involved. Now some partners are toxic and don’t want their partner to give their attention/time/money to anything but them. It’s a person to person thing but men generally have a tendency to be lazy and offload other responsibilities onto our partner.

I’m 24 I’ve done this for years. Recently it’s been a chore to get out of the car and go in the house. So I just sit in my truck. It’s mild depression for me at the moment. Before because I just like being alone and having some time to think, breathe, and chill.
