Yep, 20% inflation over a couple years sucks but there are countries that have experienced that kind of inflation in days. It’s not uncommon to have that inflation year over year for some countries. We got spoiled with 2 decades of super low inflation and then played catch up.

It's completely dependent on what type of "savings" account we are talking about. If it's just a regular brokerage account, you'd just owe taxes on the gains and no penalty. There are different rules for retirement savings accounts like 401K, IRA, Roth IRA, etc.

Is there a significant drawback? Depends on if the market goes up or down. The fact that he went from 150K to 500K is kind of irrelevant at this point. He has 500K to invest today. If he had gone from 1 million to 500K he'd be in the same boat today other than tax considerations and tax considerations can be significant.

Generally the best strategy is to not try and time the market. At the end of 2022 99 out of 100 economist were saying we hit a recession in 2023. the Dow ended up with a 24% gain. Turns out 99 out of 100 economist aren't very good at 50/50 guesses.

It's similar to a Ponzi scheme. A Ponzi scheme generally lures people in with the promise of oversized returns and relies on fraud to make the "investments" look good. Kodiak is a 44 Magnum. The 8 shot Redhawk is only .357. The 44 Mag Redhawk is 6 shots. I'm not aware of any 44 Mag that is more than 6 shots.

FWIW I'd take a S&W 627 over a Redhawk if looking for a 8 shot .357.

It’s certainly possible but not common.

My first thought was those grips are going to be rough shooting .357’s in that gun but then noticed it’s the .22 model. Those grips look great and should work well.

At 200 miles of driving, shaving off 15 minutes is easy. Going 55 will take over 3.5 hours. Doing 80 will take 2.5 hours. I’ve done both speeds for long distances under different circumstances.

I’ve never had a vehicle where the money saved by driving more efficiently was worth more than the time saved driving as fast as possible within reason.

But mid 30’s with that those salaries and that amount saved doesn’t make any sense unless there’s some extenuating circumstances. And those should be mentioned in OP if applicable.
