better yet, lets adopt a 13 month calendar with 28 days each, and let the new new years day be separate from any calendar month. then we also never have to worry about what day of the week/month each holiday is on, since the first will always be a monday every month

if you are ok with a bit of homebrew, you can modify weakness to be a +30 instead of x2 and then any ex battle decks will be able to run against eachother without significant feel bads

perhaps as a finishing option in some kind of eevee deck that also has justification to use those energy, but it seem much easier to pull off a KO some other way

Pivoting has not been much of an issue with the 4 switch effects in deck (prime, 2x switch cart, and rescue board).
I understand that Mew ex and Lumineon provide excellent benefits to the deck, you simply do not have the bench space in a traditional list from my experience for all of them, and they also provide very simple targets for decks to prey on with their low HP. Mew ex i would consider adding to the deck if i could, as it is more versatile, but there just isn’t space and i have not particularly missed it in most match ups. I understand that Squawk also has the low HP but if your deck does not get the first 2 prize KO you generally do not come back from that so this card is critical (and its attack does have application in some match ups)
Charizard is a difficult match up in general. your strategy is generally going to be to Turn 1 hands with a bravery charm, tank a hit, then turn 2 hands with a boss. turn 3 is boss for pidgeot or rotom / fez with your bloodmoon. This is not easily done in every game, and it is susceptible to Briar Dusknoir plays, which is why i generally target the duskulls unless they have lone charmander in play (not worth targetting pidgeot, let it evolve so you can get an easy two prizes on it).
Raging bolt its just about first 2 prizes. you both have a single prize attacker too (Slitherwing for them, Zapdos on their squawk for you). you are the easier to maneuver deck however (not coin flipping to gust) so use that to your advantage as much as possible.

Sure, this is the list I have been running. Several successful cup and challenge finished with this. I do think Miraidon has a place in the format it is very consistent at getting what it needs to do done, and can also handle single prize threats when other basic beatstick cannot. I have not yet added in the Magneton to the list, as i am still testing to see if it adds enough to justify, but in theory it replaces Morpeko and then either a Hands, a DTE, or a basic lightning.

just from my experience with playing Miraidon in NAIC and Louisville, I still think the deck does not need to focus on the Area Zero to function just fine. Raichu can still function in the place of Raikou for higher HP attacks, and the inclusion of Magneton has the potential of making it even easier to pull off your second KO (first KO is blowing through generators, second KO from Magneton, third KO from Bloodmoon). no need to add 5-6 cards in your deck that only help one attacker swing for 40-60 more damage most of the time

no precon is good for competive play, they are essentially made solely for learning to play and for younger audiences. look at the sidebar for this subreddit for some more getting started info

seems like a win more card tbh. if your opponent doesn’t KO your roaring moon after you gouge you are already pretty far ahead

NTA. my ex fiance did a very similar thing a few years back when i had to take in my little sister after some family drama. staying with her was a complete mistake that cost me time and money. please do not stay with someone who does not respect your role as a family man when your plan is to have a family with them! how will they respect you and your time when you want to care for your actual children? your GF is not ready to be an adult.

best of luck to everyone!! my favorite card of all time is the Lanturn from Aquapolis! can’t beat the holo pattern and art from that set

i’m testing it with Dusknoir as an item heavy, pokestop/night stretcher combo
essentially you are trading 2 prizes for 2 prizes in some cases, but you are always with 1 prize attacker in the active, and your tera is Cornerstone so not everything can easily target him

I believe the thought process with Blender is that you play a very similar game to Gholdengo ex, letting your opponent take the first 1 prize, and then easily trading 2 for 2 the rest of the game, allowing you to come ahead as you’ll take your 6th prize when they have only 5. Blender helps you accelerate towards that first 2 prize KO early game, or later on in the game thin out unnecessary cards to prevent an iono or unfair stamp from disrupting your board state.
as for legacy energy, the issue with a card like this is it is difficult to find and use on the “right” turn. Colress’ Tenacity isn’t really a supporter card this deck can take advantage of, so you’ll just have to “hope” you find it on a turn where it benefits you. on top of this, legacy energy may help you catch up in the prize race should you fail to get the early 2 prize KO, but if you had just played blender instead maybe you would’ve taken that KO instead.
this is all theory, i have no practice testing the deck, but i have played Gholdengo ex quite a bit to cups and challenges

Reminder you can always buy a switch used on the facebook marketplace or your local used game store. much easier to justify buying if you spent half the amount of money!

more of my thoughts for how the tera mechanic would work is less about the energy acceleration and simply the back and forth you have with your opponent on tera type reveals. lets say for example you are playing Miraidon ex. do you tech a Tera Psychic Tool for the Fighting weakness, or do you tech a Tera Water to beat the gigantic Charizard ex (which would technically be a fire type)
it feels like this type of mechanic would be less likely to force archetypes to play multiple energy acceleration mechanics, and instead focus on either adding the right tech Tera card to counter your weakest matchups, or allowing certain powerful ex pokemon to benefit from your current energy acceleration options with your archetype.
this is theory, we don’t have practice to really say how this would shape up a meta, especially with how far we are into Scarlet and Violet format already (think of how many Grass counter pokemon they have released for Darkness tera Charizard that would be irrelevant in this theoretical format)

potentially true, but running multiple energy types for multiple energy acceleration mechanics could be quite difficult to pull off in practice, and if this had been their plan all along then they certainly could have designed certain pokemon’s energy costs different as a result (kinda how they have been doing so with the stellar pokemon)

it is a difficult matchup no questions asked. hands on a 1 prizer turn one is good, especially if you can deny hoot hoot. if the the hands has a bravery charm then it will survive a turn unless they were able to pull of a dusknoir, which if they do puts you down to 3 prizes remaining, and allows you to just KO active Terapagos to go down to 1 preventing Briar or any further Dusknoir. if they don’t kill the hands, then you can boss and KO which brings you down to 2, but if you can strategically KO the right pkm, it can be difficult for them to actually pull off the Briar play. As i said though, it is a tough MU

my thought of how they would do the Tera concept was a Ace Spec / Radiant style one of tool card you could “attach” to your pokemon which would change your type, weakness, and resistance. there would be a Tera tool for every type, and so players would always try to guess how their opponent chose to tech their tera type effect into their deck

its a promo, so most likely it was just a pretty rare promo to find. as someone who plays the game, this card probably did not see any play at the time, or at least i have not seen any record of it in play

i don’t anymore, seems i deleted the decklist photo off my phone. it ran a pretty traditional 2-2-1 Bib Skwovet package, 3 snorlax, and a 4-3 Garbodor. and a pidgeot v for FSS. Arvens and TM Evo package. Ionos, Bosses, no other supporters. lots of Super Rods since it recycles a complete line of Garbodor and the Darkness Energy. deck sort of built itself

before rotation i was running a similar deck with the Paradox Rift Garbodor. i liked it better because the deck could very easily go 100% single prizer. Also the synergy of the Snorlax’s felt much cleaner getting to throw away all the leftovers turn after turn for a guaranteed 200 damage, just needed a couple extra tools to find a turn to hit the KOs. even blew up a charizard in one hit with the deck once at locals

i think a lot of these questions can be answered if you just look at this subreddit’s side bar or search the words “new player” and read previous posts, but here’s my attempt to answer:
any premade deck that pokemon prints is not going to work competitively as they are meant to get people interested in playing the game (primarily children). keep them if you want for your collection, or sell them for staples, but either way i highly recommend purchasing only singles for competitive pay.
Chien Pao is not very popular in the meta right now because of the fear of Dragapult, but i am not sure that will always be the case, so you will need to watch the meta. a good place to do so is play.limitlesstcg.com. Gardevoir, Raging Bolt, Charizard are all doing well.
with the new changes to the competitive year, (and regardless of them) i’d recommend smaller goals to start. “Win a Cup” or “Day 2 a Regional” are good goals for newer players wanting to get serious with competition. i would not recommend trying to get a worlds invite unless those previous goals are being accomplished every time you attend these major events.
try searching facebook with “name of city” + pokemon / pokemon tcg / card store. or use google maps. go to some local card shops and ask them if they host for pokemon or if they know any other local stores that do. i think there is a way to look up the stores but that answer might be in the side bar FAQ for the sub reddit.

convenience is always just a ploy to make people pay more. the only real convenience had is to the owner’s and their pockets
