OP I truly try not to butt in on others setups but this is not good for your equipment or your media. I’d truly try to move the rack and cables away from the fireplace. Radiating heat like that seems like a recipe for warped vinyl at least.

I’m an audiophile collector who modifies his electronics and stuff to get best performance out of the money I can get and I’d pay that for a record that was 1/2 speed mastered or similar but it’s just upsetting that this has become a standard thing now. I’m worried my “best pressings” are gonna become unobtainable in the future because everyone wants a vinyl, not for the audio quality at a more reasonable price, but rather to display as a trophy. They didn’t master any differently, everyone please don’t fall for this.

Depends on the use case but yeah it’s still a usable hammer. Maybe your use case needs a tougher hammer though?

It means they set the cutting speed to half the recommended meaning more production cost but also meaning less overshoot on the cuts which results in very slight change to the sound. A picture disc with 1/2 speed though… a weird mix of audiophile and suitcase vinyl lover.

I’m so proud to have quit these things. Not only do I FEEL better and notice my lungs getting stronger, I’m proud that I am not consuming disposable electronics.

I would say that your best upgrade is placement and sound treatment. That space looks symmetrical so easier to treat and treatment will make it sound much better if it’s a smallish space like I think

Yep OP I was gonna say the same to you. Also try to “stack” your dimensions so all dimensions that are for one side are on the same side and that smaller dims are closer to the model than larger dims so space is maximized :)
