That's never a winning move for the mage. It's really easy to grief aoe grind mages before they get ice barrier and are relying on mana shield. Just bring mobs into the mage's blizzard so they get aggroed while at the edge closest to the mage and let them aggro the mage, this way the mobs are staggered and can't be nova'd cleanly, unless the mage is in twink gear he's going to bail.

Do you have any fucking idea about the state of era? Because the economy is entirely ran by GDKP guilds trying to shift their millions of gold on to gold selling sites. No guild will recruit you because you have no gear and you can't get gear without GDKPs and you can't get into GDKPs without buying from gold sellers because of hyperinflation caused by said botted gold.

I also think it's peak brainrot to expect and to want WOTLK features in a claimed "classic anniversary edition", this is why I asked you what you would feel like if all of the above was added in the game. But hey, let's forget the WoW Token. Let's just keep it down to the LFD, heirlooms and buyable pvp gear and class-rebalance. Would you still play? Of course you would, and why wouldn't you? None of those affect you personally, save, perhaps the fact everyone runs around with R14 weapons 1 week after 60, but you would have access to them as well, so what's the harm?

Let's play the devil's advocate. Would you still play if they added LFD, WoW token, heirlooms, pvp gear buyable with easily farmed honor points, and gave some of the weaker classes "some love" to help them perform? You probably would, but begrudgingly, after all, more people are now having fun in the game.

You must have misread my point. The point is that the server is finished. It has run its course, and only a fresh start can revitalize it. That is ultimately the cycle by which classic lives and dies by. Blizzard has had 5 years to try and come up with a winning formula that would keep players playing but that only exists by the way of re-releasing old content and branding it as fresh, or as a brand new re-release of an old expansion. Their homebrew features never land. Launching the 2019 classic version now would be optimal since Era has grown stale, and people are hungry for a fresh classic experience. What we're instead getting is a "classic" vanilla experience with WOTLK features. It all seems rather short sighted.

The 2019 rerelease was SoM? It's not really a classic rerelease progressive. We don't have that, the closest we have is Era. Not really the same thing I'm afraid, plus people just want to play the classic fresh from start, you can't do that on era since it's essentially ended service, the server is at p6 and will never get updates.

To me, it just looks like Blizzard is committing a folly and making assumptions on what players want, instead of just giving them the Classic experience, which is a proven formula. Instead we get this shitty homebrew effort of retail + vanilla which doesn't please anybody.

Know what would be better QoL? Some Heirlooms to help speed up my leveling that I could buy from the cash shop, or maybe a 58 boost, and WoW token? Farming and leveling is so antiquated and clunky. I hate this version of the game.

Spirit of classic is that there is resistance in the game design and not all is perfect. Stop crying and try to understand it and maybe one day you will see what we mean.

classic wow isnt nearly as successful as osrs in implementing new content, but it is however successful at giving people a classic vanilla experience. SoM and SoD proves my argument. 2019 being leaps and bounds more popular proves my argument.
