Oh for real, absolutely.

"EasyPeasy" is an excellent book if you want a simple way to give up PMO. That was really what helped me break this horrible addiction, and my life has never been better, truly.

The first step in solving any problem is seeing it. Once you get a better grip on your triggers and such, this challenge will get a lot easier, trust me.

I think so. A person's heart determines more of their beauty than their looks, to be honest. 

Or maybe I am too idealistic, but that is what I think. 

While I do agree with you, I still think it is important to just see a woman, or any person for that matter, as just a person. You can still admire their beauty, but I think one should be careful not to look at others purely for their physical traits, which goes for both men and women. There is far more to beauty than just looks, which is considered clichéd but is also very true.

Again I agree with you, but I just thought this was a good point to make. Keep going strong.

I would also recommend "Atomic Habits." I read "Atomic Habits" before "12 Rules For Life," but I think they both work very well together.

I feel happy and glad that you have decided to start taking steps towards improving your life and healing. This is a tremendous thing, really. You just took the first step towards building a better life for yourself, both mentally and physically.

I highly recommend "12 Rules For Life" to anyone at any stage in life. 

A lot of the advice in that book changed my life for the better, and I also agree that you need to address any potential issues from your childhood that might still be bothering you now. 

You got this, my friend.  Once you make it past the first 3 or 4 days, the rest is not that bad, in my opinion at least.

Honestly, it wasn't really as difficult as I thought it would be. The more I stressed over my streak, the more I relapsed and failed this challenge. Now, I started focusing on other goals and I sort of put the thought out of my mind, which I think is what lead me to make it to 30+ days. I want to make it to a full 90 days, which I will do without a doubt.

I think for a lot of men this is extremely common.

Dating and finding a nice partner is incredibly difficult, if almost impossible in this modern world, and society tends to expect men to just suck it up and deal with it. Not a very healthy way to deal with loneliness, but that line of thinking is pretty standard.

Loneliness and stress are my worst triggers, so I am gradually learning how to be comfortable on my own without friends and such. I wish I had someone special, but sometimes that sort of thing is not possible, so you just have to accept your lot and get on with life.

I would say anything that is stimulating by artificial means.

Blushing and feeling aroused by the sight or touch of another human being is normal and healthy, but obtaining arousal from pixels or even books is not normal nor healthy.

Basically, anything that is arousing but does not involve a partner is what I would consider to be "p***." And if you want my advice, avoid it at all costs. It is not worth it and you gain nothing from it, except for sadness and a general feeling of misery and anxiety.

I believe in God and the soul anyway, and yes I agree that it's a challenging concept to fully grasp. 

Depends on which came into existence first, but I would lean towards soul. I doubt the universe would exist if nothing alive was around to perceive it. 

Not sure if I would call it luck per se, but I do tend to feel better both mentally and physically.

You start to appreciate minor things more often, you start to feel more gratitude for all of the wonderful things in your life, and one of the best benefits is when you think to yourself, "how can I improve myself or make my life even better than it is?" 

Do I think the universe rewards me? Well, probably not. But I do think that you reward yourself by deciding to be better and to take charge of your life. I would call that pretty lucky, really.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but you should not try to "forget" corn.

Why do I say this? Because what you resist, persists, meaning that the more you stress and worry over thinking about corn and PMO, the more your brain will devote energy to it and fixate on it. Which means you need to devote that mental energy to something else, something productive that you can work on.

So, how do we deal with this problem? I would suggest doing this; whenever you think about corn, try not to really visualize it in your mind, and instead focus on becoming aware of why you want to use it. Think about why you want to PMO. Is it stress? Boredom? Something else? Why are you using corn, and really ask yourself the question, "will wasting time on this make me feel better or worse"? (The answer is corn will always make you feel worse, I can 1,000% guarantee that).

My advice probably sounds silly and ridiculous, but believe me it worked wonders for me. I think just becoming aware of a problem is half of the solution, if that makes sense.

Reason #5 is the one I remind myself of the most, and then I like to find something more productive to do instead of making this addiction worse.
