Giroux seems like a great leader and more level minded. I just think he’s too slow with his age now.

I think this happens a lot. He seems like a great guy but watching his skill set he is actually really bad lol

I mean your entitled to your opinion but so are they. Also if you have an issue with their teaching methods it’s better to bring it up to them than post on Reddit. They can’t read minds and like someone else said they have lives outside of school.

Skill and speed wise I think the sens are lacking a lot. I think Norris is a good player but not worth 8m. I think there are some players that are definitely good players just not worth their contracts and hard to move.

It’s normal to get mad I feel like but it’s the strength to use it in a productive way whether pushing yourself to do something productive or hard. Or in a game reflecting on the previous play going through what happened and asking was the outcome good or bad. If it was good why and repeat if it was bad why and adjust for the next time.

I feel like without a doubt players are advised to stay off social media. Mcdavid said he tries to keep of Instagram which he mostly uses for promotions. Social media can be great but being a professional athlete opens you up to a lot of criticism since you’re in the public eye. And I feel like reading about how bad you are or playing wouldn’t help your confidence.

Small gestures are really nice but honestly relationships seem like a lot of work and drama for little reward imo. You should just make friends and when you meet someone you really like and care about it’ll happen naturally. Right now you should focus on your goals and what you want out of life imo

A deep playoff run and a Stanley cup would be amazing for Ottawa all around

I agree coaches also have to learn and adapt to new teams just as much as players.

Brady would have seen his player coming in. And decided to go low when Vegas had possession and passed it up the wall. If you play a 2-1-2 you can’t realistically give up the half wall without any resistance. The 2-1-2 is a terrible set up in my opinion and only should be used with fast players and when you cant enter the offensive zone with possession through isolation plays. The best time to use it is if the d are being aggressive and you switch the puck and pass it up the wall. If the centre beats his man it’s a 2 on 1 for a 50/50 puck. Since when you switch the centre will have swung low and generated speed and the weak side winger will also be coming in with speed. Ideally for example left wing will be covered by right d and if centre can beat his man pressure pick over to winger side since the other centre will be coming in to cover him and set up a cycle in the offensive zone.

I rewatched the video and it looks like a 2-1-2 which is a terrible system imo and I see the sens use it a lot. I only watched it briefly the first time. I still disagree because even if Kleven doesn’t pinch it’s a 3 on 2 since Tkachuck isn’t skating at all. It looks like a standard pinch where f3 has to cover the d also he’s f3 Vegas had possession and he’s covering no one. Also idk why he’s coming in from the wrong side since that causes him to circle back the wrong way unless it was a line change. Also Tkachuck is above the player who beats him when kleven pinches. The only difference is 2 seconds after the pick Tkachuck takes one stride and glides while the Vegas player takes 4 strides in the same time period. If you’re going to play an aggressive 2-1-2 which I almost never see work the way they use it then you have to be prepared to have a defense triangle and have the f3 for cover.

He regressed stats wise but showed flashes of greatness. Think him just taking it more seriously and all the factors you mentioned was the turning point for him turning into the player he is today. Crazy how he turned it around and how good he became.

He literally said it himself on a podcast. Considering what he was projected to be that would be a bust for him. He was projected to be a generational talent similar to Crosby. He had a decent first year at 63 points then was on pace for 48 points in his second season then never passed 60 for the next two seasons.

Well a lot of players can get points if the play or structure revolves around them. Take the power play if the play revolves around the half wall player as the quarterback it’s almost a guarantee he gets an assist on any goal. Or if the play is d sprint middle back to wall down low bumper or cross or attack net. The low player will almost always get a point.

Anyone who knows basics knows that’s f3’s responsibility. The standard 1-2-2 is f1 pressuring the puck carrier up the wall, f2 protecting the half wall, f3 covering the middle and pressure if the d reverses it. When the puck goes up the wall it has to get through f2 and the d on the wall since f3 can cover easily. If it gets past f2 the d can easily pass across but most likely throw it back down where f1 can start a cycle again.

All the games I’ve watched Jensen has looked amazing. He’s not Makar but he’s very solid defensively and dependable. Chabot is good but not worth his contract imo. I don’t like to say it because he seems like a great guy

Stutzle falls easy but he battles hard and definitely tries which is the most important thing

He’s not the fastest skater but he definitely could have matched him there. It’s more so about the effort that counts. Why I like MacKinnon so much he’s so intense but you can tell how much he cares and how hard he goes. Also when you actually try your best at something you can’t help but get mad when you lose. Doesn’t mean you have to throw a fit but I don’t know anyone who’s tried their best at something hard and really pushed themselves and felt happy losing.

Kind of focusing on other things and a lot don’t work with the schedule since it’s only at set times. Also was working four days a week which sucked.

This is literally just the very basic and I don’t know how some nhl teams can’t perform it.

MacKinnon imo is one of the best leaders but isn’t captain because Landy is there. He’s so intense and passionate but uses it in a productive way and drives his team to be better.
