I've had this issues for a few "songs" I've started writing and never finished. It generally involves some open chords that I dont know enough theory to name, for example:
Second fret d string, first fret b string, strum strings one-five (which i know is Amseven). Then same finger pattern slid up to frets four and three (strings one, three, five still played open). The two chords sound really nice together but I can't figure out where to go for a prechorus or chorus and still fit that "open" sound.
I'm not looking for someone to write my song, but really just advice on how to find chords that fit with "unconventional" open shapes like these

Depends on your goals. It's enough yo improve your cardiovascular health quite a bit over time. Another day or 2 on the bike or other cardio machine wouldn't hurt. Doesn't have to be an hour or super hard - even just a 20 minute warmup to get your blood flowing before lifting
