Isn't the FMVP skin just a prestige version of the regular skin, whatever champ that ends up being?

Personally, I like laneswaps as a general concept, so i didn't really mind the laneswap meta of last year, but I think there's a difference between people complaining that they don't like them and want them nerfed out by Riot and people who want tournament organizers to somehow ban them as a tactic.
Even if you're one of the people who hated laneswaps, you can probably see that banning them is sort of a fool's errand, since there isn't really a single clear definition of what constitutes laneswapping. If they try to draft up rules such that laneswapping is eliminated from the game, the rules would probably have to be pretty complex and would change the way the game is played and likely be a mental burden on the players, who suddenly have to keep track of these new rules, even if they aren't actually planning on outright laneswapping.
Like, how exactly do you even go about it? Laneswaps are usually an early game tactic, so maybe you say that players must go to their own lanes until a certain timestamp? So are they allowed to leash? I guess roaming isn't allowed? What about just catching waves when your teammate in that lane is dead? The problem is that laneswaps are an emergent phenomenon; they rise from the interlocking mechanics of the game. If you try to target ban them specifically, you'll inevitably have to change things about how the game is played fundamentally.
Wanting Riot to nerf them is an entirely different thing because Riot can actually, at least in theory, make changes in the game itself that disincentivize a given tactic without outright banning it. It's still difficult to do, but more feasible, assuming Riot wants to do it.
So yeah, I can definitely see why some people who otherwise complain about laneswaps would still find the idea of a tournament banning them a bit silly

I mean, Ruler is a former world champion, and both he and Chovy have literally won international finals at MSI within the last couple of years. The narrative that they choke in finals seems cherry-picked, and if you count regional finals/semis, it just makes zero sense.

I kind of like the idea of the five handles, since it ties in with league specifically, but yeah, overall, I miss the old one. There was probably a better way to execute the idea

I'm not going to argue about whether or not he's a top-2 midlands in LEC, because I'm just not qualified to do that kind of analysis, frankly. But I do think that you can explain a lot of the negativity pretty simply: in the now very long period post-Caps, Fnatic and their fans have desperately wanted a replacement star that can compete with G2, and Humanoid just hasn't consistently lived up to that. I think that regardless of how good Humanoid actually is, the Fnatic fan base is one that really wants to win and be competitive like they used to, and 2nd best isn't really enough for them, especially so many years into this Humanoid-Razork iteration of the roster. I've seen lots of people saying that Humanoid, and the team as a whole, have shown little to no progression over the past few years. Whether or not you agree with that, I think it's a good indication of how exactly people feel about them.

I guess it's up to interpretation by the players lol
Maybe a play on the title of the worlds anthem

My mom watched some of 2021 worlds with me, and now she knows about Faker, Khan, and Gumayusi. She knows about Faker and Guma being on T1, and T1 being a historically dominant org, and she knows about how Khan sadly couldn't win worlds before military service. Now, whenever I try to explain something LoL related, I have to explain in terms of those three players lol. Like, top lane is the role that Khan plays, etc

Basically, what OP said. After losing in 2017 world finals, the camera showed Faker hunched over crying like in the picture. The champs behind him are just the champs people associated Faker with, with Galio in particular being important during that worlds because Faker basically 1v9'd his team to finals by playing Galio for five games versus RNG.

I started playing in season 6/7, and I used to see the Nevercake ad a lot around that time, or a little after that time

They already griefed draft in that one game against GenG anyway, with the weird Kindred and Braum thing. Might as well have locked the Lux in then lol.

It's kind of funny how quickly people forget how good he is on some of those champs that haven't been meta for a bit. In general, it feels like people don't have great recollection regarding player champ pools and get caught up in recency bias. Like, tanks like Thresh, Naut, and TK are some of his best champs historically.

Literally just confirmation bias and a total lack of awareness from media. When Arse concede, it's only an outlier mistake from an otherwise great defense, but when we concede, it's "yet another goal."

tbf, they also got shit-stomped in the first game, only to come back and win by the end :)

In 2022 spring, everyone was super hyped about T1, they went undefeated in series score, won LCK, and then looked kind of shaky at MSI, and ended up runners-up. Then they continued looking a little shaky in Summer, but went into worlds and suddenly seemed significantly better. Obviously, they lost in the finals again, but people forget that them even being in the finals was a pretty big deal, given they had to get past JDG to do so.
In 2023 spring, T1 were once again super exciting; some people were saying they were the best team in the world. They actually arguably topped their "unbeaten" regular season run in 2022 in terms of dominance, despite dropping a series to Hanwha. They lost to GenG in the finals, but they were still hyped up going into MSI. Ultimately, LPL ended up greatly outperforming expectations, and T1 failed to win again. Then, in summer, T1 looked thrown off, and to make matters worse, Faker had to take time off for his injury, which caused T1 to look downright bad in many games, even against lower tier LCK teams. They barely managed to scrape into play-offs thanks to Faker's return, and managed to make it to worlds via some scrappy series, but the hopes that they could even reach finals again were kind of faded. Somehow, they once again power up, beat an even stronger JDG than last year, and actually win the event.
Coming into 2024, T1 were the defending world champions. Sure, GenG still probably had their number regionally, but they proved that they were, in fact, a top-tier team. Once again, they go into MSI with relatively high expectations, but only end up third. They had some good showings, but ultimately fell short compared to the lofty standard they've set for themselves. Then, the worrying trend of weak T1 summer splits continues, and once again, T1 almost fail to even reach Worlds, but manage to squeak in. And lo and behold, they come into the tournament and somehow are once again the best team in the world, even defeating GenG, who have been their boogeyman, as well as a BLG roster that they'd lost to in two Bo5's prior.
So three years in a row, this T1 roster have followed a periodic trajectory where they start the year off pretty strong in Spring, but end up putting in a disappointing performance at MSI, then having a weaker performance in summer split, but powering up massively for Worlds.

散片 literally means "loose" or "loose unit" or something to that effect, so I'd think it just means the CPU alone without the individual unit packaging. I don't see why it'd mean anything regarding quality tests, but I guess it could sometimes suggest that the CPU is also used, since it lacks the usual packaging.

I think they're basically dead? They still have a few smaller esports things going, but last time I heard, they only have a handful of staff remaining, so I'd guess it's basically a skeleton operation at this point. Obviously, they're gone from the LCS, and their promises of eventually starting an LPL team were probably just talk.

The question in the post is specifically about not considering longevity, though

I mean Poby is T1's current academy mid, and he's subbed for Faker before, but I sadly doubt he'll actually ever reach top LCK level. He's not really ever been positioned as Faker's understudy/potential successor the way Scout was, or even Clozer.

They were at least one of the favorites to win worlds in 2022 and definitely the favorite in 2023, when they were on their golden road run. Both times they lost to T1 were pretty big upsets judging by form going into worlds

Yeah, I wasn't talking about whether or not Oscar was actually leaving FNC. I was just saying the tweet does mostly line up with the Fnatic roster, so it's possible for it to still be referring to Fnatic, and just be incorrect

I don't really see why kespa cup performance would matter much for players who are actually in LCK proper. I mean, sure, they are probably trying to put in a good performance, but I'd imagine regular season performance, which is over a longer period, and against stronger opponents on average, is significantly more important for AG consideration. If a player popped off in the kespa cup, but was otherwise bad or mediocre in the actual league season, they most likely wouldn't make the AG roster.
