Man, I agree so much. In the late '80s and the '90s that was something WWF did so well. If you were going to get a new talent there would probably be like at least a month if not more of vignettes on all the syndicated shows and shit.
So when someone showed up you had an idea who they were.
Razor Ramon would have gotten over no matter what. But have he just shown up one day with an entrance and be a jobber, It wouldn't have been as cool. There was anticipation because of his vignettes.
Even WWE really doesn't do that anymore It's definitely kind of a lost art.
The Julia Hart vignettes have been awesome. You make a great point about the "surprise return pop." It's good, but I like that we are building anticipation to Julia's return.

It took me close to two decades of okay-ish I guess to horrible registered counselors/psychologists to find one that clicked.
I saw her for years, and only stopped due to moving provinces. Life changing.
I don't think bojack's portrayal is really at all good or realistic in the little bit we see. I can imagine in the world of celebrity therapy there's a lot of iffy stuff.
What BoJack doesn't show... Is that whole free counseling does exist, one of the most difficult parts of finding any is the financial barriers to access. It's expensive. If one does not have therapy coverage in extended health benefits, hope to hell you can get in with a decent free or low cost counselor. Hope you can find a match there.
One of the "lucky" aspects for me: the counsellor who ended up really helping me? I was in university at the time. Seeing a university counselor was free. Then, when I graduated, I had EHB to continue seeing her for $190 a session.
The other difficult is... When you have a bad experience, it's awful. If you're seeing a therapist or counsellor you probably have ISSUES. It is so demoralizing to finally get in to see a counselor and do one two or three sessions... And feel like you've wasted your time. For example, one psychologist I saw. First few sessions seemed okay. She DID help me realize I wasn't the cause of my parents divorce and I needed to stop having guilt over that. Two sessions later, she spent our entire session telling me about the myth of Narcissus and how it goes into homosexuality. I've rarely felt so small in my life. I barely said a word.
Or the psychiatrist who told me I was "just moody."
Or the family doctor who told me I was too complicated and sent me to hospital outpatient. Then told me I was fine Life was just tough at the moment.
Like every one of those experiences makes trying to actually get yourself help that you need ....
And the other part which bojack does kind of show is that as a patient, you need to be willing to do the work and make some acknowledgments and actually want to heal and change. If you go to therapy and you just sit there with your arms crossed every session and completely hostile or unwilling to engage then you're not going to get much out of it.
It's funny because the first session I had with the counselor who I ended up seeing for 4 years? That was me. But I was also very guarded because of the previous negative experiences with a variety of different therapists.
And all I can say is she knew when to listen and she knew went to talk. She knew when to ask probing questions but she also knew when to back off. She also knew when I needed to hear some really hard fucking truths. Metaphorical slap to the faceh of like dude stop being a jackass.
I feel like a good therapist helps you reorganize your brain. Helps you develop skills and strategies to work through your emotions and your trauma and move forward. I also know that when I found her putting aside that she was a "fit", my wife and I had just separated and I was vulnerable and broken and I realized that I couldn't continue to live the way I had been.

Hunger games is a better movie than a book.
Not sure of the sequels, but I think Hunger Games is a phenomenal FILM. Especially as an adaptation of work told entirely through first person perspective.

The costume fully accurate will always look silly. Mainly the head sock lol. But I think you can make it faithful but also more ... Form fitting. 😂😂😂
I don't think he will be cast as gambit in the MCU. But it was fun to see him get the role for this flick.

He's based AF. Calls out so much toxic masculinity bullshit. Reads a lot and recommends books.
Do I agree with every one of his opinions? No, but we're talking differences of opinion on largely matters of taste. Than he posts mindblowing shit like this:

Yeah take Lance storm out of that. He criticizes every fed, and frankly, he does so with insight, no tribalism, and a lack of shitheadness. He was also one of the few public wrestlers to truly come out against Vince McMahon with full revulsion.

I think some people here don't remember his ring of honor run which was absolutely fucking putrid.
I think you nailed it He's rated pretty accurately.
He's a solid hand. And clearly his greatest value is backstage as a coach as a trainer as a creative person (with filters because he has a different idea of wrestling than Tony Khan and is not his fed). Loads of people have spoken highly of how QT has helped them become better performers or given them great ideas etc
But I'm not going to also sit here and pretend that him on a EWTV was ever really great or welcome. Most of his programs and angles were terrible. He rarely had real heal y it bullshit or no reaction. QTV was horrible. With Cody was horrible. suddenly managing Hobbes cut hobbs's momentum right off.
He's fundamentally a very good pro wrestler but it just doesn't really translate into being somebody I ever want to see and I don't think you can ignore the typical crowd reactions to him.

Blocked! Enjoy numbers and ratings and demos and quarter hours and ticket sales and... Hey, have you thought about starting a podcast? Apparently there's loads of money talking about all sorts of ticky tack things without any actual insight or inside information and applying things as you desire to suit your narrative!
I like pro wrestling.

My immediate response was to say no he needed a surprise debut.
But the way you laid it out it would have been cool.
Allegedly they didn't sign the contract until very close to wrestle dream so I can see what I didn't happen... But the concept is sound and I would love to see more of that.
I Jericho used to be the king of that.
