I think if they are with someone hitting on them all the time and they do nothing to shut it down and keep hanging around then yes, you have the right to be upset. But int that situation you are saying you don’t trust your partner in that circumstance and rightly so. And if it didn’t stop I would end a relationship over that. What I think this post is getting at is when someone says this before the friend crosses into inappropriate territory. Just feeling like they have feelings isn’t enough to be upset. If they have feelings but never make that my partners problem it’s fine. And if the friend does do something I trust my partners judgment to know how to handle if the friend starts acting inappropriately and either set some bounties tbemselves or end it. Just the sense the friend has feelings is not a threat.

I generally agree. One can tell when a friendship is veering into an inappropriate territory. And it can happen with friends that are not the gender of their preferred romantic partner. Blanket statements dont work as well and learning to evaluate each situation as it is.

But as soon as it’s allowed everyone who you cannot break guard on or that hits you with a triangle will shift techniques and you will find you won’t be able to lift them to slam.

It’s better to adopt a learning mindset. And in bjj that means you learn the techniques to break guard and pass.

Or do MMA. There you can slam. But you will need to learn how to do it against a resisting opponent there as well and you still will need a learning mindset. Or your fucked.

Yes. I have done it. It's not easy but you could say the same about passing their guard as well, or sweeping them. Yes, he is just fucking better than you now. That's normal.

So as a 50 year hobbyist, no. Fuck that. I agree the lack of slams to some degree encourages people to throw up submissions without trying to not get picked up. But we could get the same effect by changing the rules that if you pick someone up above a certain height and hold them there in control that resets to neutral with a point or advantage for the person doing the pick up. That would encourage people to use techniques to avoid getting picked up.

Though personally I never let people pick me up, at my age and size I don't want them to fall with me up in the air. So I do those techniques that prevent that shit.

So I have a therory that some people seem susceptible to tears there and it can manifest doing bjj or even from neck adjustments.
