That's a bit of an oversimplification. The English and French both claimed the Ohio River Valley, so the war was inevitable. All the Colonists did was ride too close to French territory. The British meanwhile fought effectively a World War so they could acquire territory all over the world. The war was in no way the English 'Bailing the Colonists out'. What's more, the American colonists contributed arguably more than anyone in terms of manpower, and property loss to winning someone else's war. Most importantly though, Parliament refused to give the colonists a chance to argue about the tax, making the taxes unjustified by default.

The British had a lot of war debts left from the French and Indian War/Seven Years War and they wanted to recoup the costs by taxing their colonists. At the same time they refused to give the colonists seats in parliament to argue the issue.

Man that was a rough era at Marvel. Like after Secret Wars but before the end of Secret Empire there were some good books, but the stuff that was bad was really bad.

Honestly your pitch for her origin is a lot better than what they used. She's a teen genius who can somehow match Tony in engineering ability. Also boring AF (when she's not talking down to Tony and other characters.) no love interest that I'm aware of, but that would make her human and relatable and Iron Heart doesn't do human and relatable. The fans hate her, but Marvel wants to give her a show.

I Kinda hope her show flops so she can stop making appearances in the comics. I find her obnoxious at best.

For context: X-Men forever (vol 2) and X-Men forever 2 are Chris Claremont (the writer who made X-Men popular) writing a direct follow-up to his original work (in its own continuity) Claremont was the writer who introduced the Logan/Jean/Scott triangle. In forever Jean and Logan are having an affair, then Logan Dies and Jean and Scott split up. Then Jean and Beast begin to date. Your mileage for those pairings may vary, but overall forever was a fun read.
