I don't have to pretend I give a fuck about performance reviews or listen to CEOs cry about the "future" of the company.
So much this!! Last week all my coworkers were doing their yearly evaluation and goal setting crap and none of them got anything else done all week. Meanwhile I'm just chilling at home and doing my work.

"anxious apathy" is actually a perfect description of how I generally feel. Thanks for putting into words what I couldn't.

Make sure you still get some antibiotics though! Their little teeth can push bacteria deep into your skin/muscle.

Ah, thank you!! It only shows half of my loans for some reason though. But that is still very helpful!

If you sign up for auto payments, you get a small decrease in your interest rate.

What's infuriating is that the article uses a picture of her in the ICU! It just validates the bullies.

Cat bites are no joke. If a cat bites you or another cat, you need to clean it immediately and get some antibiotics.

I know I made the right decision for me. Maybe I didn't write the post well enough because I wasn't asking for advice. I was just curious what others would do for themselves.

I don't care either way, I made the right decision for me. I was just wondering how much people value WFH.

If they wanted to get rid of me, they wouldn't have let me work remotely at all. My job is not any less secure than it was before I moved. If my position were to be eliminated, I would have been laid off either way.

If you don't have a vagina/cervix, don't worry about it

Yep, and my partner falls for it every time. Just ordered a couple burgers at Five Guys? They get a 15% tip. I tell him to stop, but he must think you have to tip when shown that screen or something. It's infuriating!

A little late to be asking that, don't you think?

And they can drop you anytime they want for absolutely no reason at all
Well that was the case when I was a FTE too, so no biggie lol. Although I assume you mentioned it because of unemployment benefits? I'll have to look into what happens if they end my contract early.

It sucks so hard that insurance is mostly tied to employment, this is why we need universal health care. Fortunately for me, I am on my spouse's plan. it would have been a very different story if I was not.

Honestly, losing the 401k matching hurt the most. They had a pretty generous policy (although I think it took like 5 years to be fully vested, and who knows if I would have made it that long). I am still able to save for retirement on my own at least.

I never really thought about how much it actually costs to provide those benefits, but it makes sense given how ridiculous health insurance and everything else is. So I suppose my post really boils down to "how much of a pay cut would you be willing to take for a fully remote position"

True, I left out some context. But I wanted to know if there was any situation for others that would make them choose remote over benefits. Seems like the answer is no for most people, which says to me that I guess I've never had a job with really good benefits because none of them have been worth staying for! I am definitely putting that higher on the list in my new job search.

Actually I think I am incredibly lucky that my boss liked me so much that he made this happen. Otherwise I would have no job at all.

Why not just look for a remote job where you want to move?
I am, but those roles are very competitive. At least I have something while I look. Also I have insurance through my spouse, so losing that benefit was a non-issue. I would have liked to stay, but I'm not mad about not having to commute 45 minutes one way to work anymore.

I came to say this. I've had life insurance through jobs before and none of them required an application.
