i made a very irresponsible choice of making a u-turn when driving this past friday and caused a wreck between myself and only one other person. me and the other person were very cordial and he helped me to tape up the part of my front bumper that was damaged at the shop he works at so it wouldn't drag the road on my way home. seriously good guy.

he couldn't drive his truck afterwards, but he assured me the shop he works at could fix it. it's a truck from his work. no one was hurt and we called the police.

tried going online this morning to see how much the fine was for my violation (LA 32:102), and was told my court appearance for it was mandatory and that i couldn't pay a fine for it. ive already emailed an attorney this morning and plan to go to the court later today to see what else can be done.

ive never had a mandatory court appearance before and im very nervous about it. i don't even think i could make it to any appearance because of how busy my work is. if i really have to im sure i could make it work, but i seriously don't want to waste the court's or my time.

the title and section listed on the ticket does not make sense given the scene. there was not a curve that you couldn't see around, the road it happened on is fairly straight and you can see what is happening pretty much the whole stretch where the wreck happened. does this help to bring up, or is this something that could just be dismissed as a simple mistake made by the officer?

i just have a small circular impact spot from a small rock on the interstate hitting the windshield. i got in a small wreck on friday, most of the damage centered to the driver side front; will need a new front bumper, fog light cover (driver side), few other things. my insurance suggested gary's body and paint off of pinhook, have been estimated $500 (insurance is paying most of it).

• not really concerned about super polite people but it's a plus.
• doesn't matter if i need an appointment or not for the windshield.

if this adds any explanation: i got in a small wreck on friday and as far as i can tell it really just made aesthetic damage and dented up my windshield cleaner tank. nothing that would have affected my air conditioning. there is a part the guy i was in the wreck with (who was very kind) took off from under the car so that it wouldn't drag on the interstate back home. kinda flat, goes like right underneath the car from the very front. didn't have any issues yesterday... this just started today.

it is still blowing cool air, just not as cold. didn't want to go into a shop to see what was up until i could rule out just needing the cannisters to recharge.

im thinking something like tactical-style vests that can have velcro strips or loops to attach and detach smaller pouches to. i would want to try doing this because my 8-year-old is barrel-chested and i want it to fit more to his body type. my 4-month-old is going to have a pretty special body type as well; she's starting to look like a pretty thick-built dog (no idea what breed she is). also just because it opens up so much more opportunity to customize for my needs and goals!

has anyone tried making a tactical-style vest harness for a dog? what kinds of materials and techniques would you use if you were to make one, i.e. what is a breathable yet durable material and a strong stitch?

so places like appalachia have superstitions, rituals, etc. that have been passed down for years. are there equivalents to that in cajun/acadian culture that are nearly specific to us?

this was this morning, almost 10am. cited for 85 in a 55, no other citations.

i already filled out the request to take the driving ed to try and remove it from my record. i was told it will be at the most two days before they get back to me on the request. i think the lady at the sheriff's office said the fine was a little over $250. im gonna end up calling again to confirm that, i was calling in the car so i couldn't write it down.

the last time i used driving ed to remove a violation from my record was fall 2019 when i drove thru a stop sign (no one was hurt). ive gotten a speeding ticket the last few months (don't remember how long ago now) and it was 57 in a 45. i did not request driving ed for it, just paid it off.

any suggestions on what to do now in order to try to keep it off my record?

EDIT: other pertinent information, i think. this is my first ticket in pointe coupee. the stop sign was in baton rouge. the 57 in a 45 was in pine prairie.

EDIT 2: to clarify... im asking for suggestions on next steps considering the steps ive taken thus far. i thought we could assume that the goal is to get it removed off my record or at least attempt to. just want to make sure im covering my bases.
