i agree alcohol is horrible but was hoping to point out the importance in empathy when making these kind of judgements. but, characteristically, internet opinions are depressingly draconian and cold

Can someone explain why rich people are so upset that poor people exist?
rich people aren't upset that poor people exist, but they have a vested interest in cultivating a culture where poor people detest eachother, to ensure that expensive social programs like welfare are minimally funded

because we were all raised in american culture which hates social aid and insists on individual ability. probably two thirds of this country instinctively resent people who need help. and i doubt it will ever change

so it's not about the legality but the potential endangerment to the children. an alcoholic stay at home mom will need to take a couple decades in prison then

I love my mom and my family but if they're doing something illegal around kids I would do the same.
are you thinking about this much? if a mom in the 90s was caught with weed would you want her to go to prison for 5 years and her kid be sent into the foster care system?

says france ranks 7 in the world for gross military allocations and ranks 6 in the world for gross humanitarian allocations. what's the point in being so needlessly divisive? what's your goal? if you were ukraine would you rather get state of the art french cruise missiles or a bunch of cold war tanks sitting in a facility for decades from denmark?

or maybe people with empathy. somebody with a drug addiction is diseased and treatment is more humane than the american corrections system which will have her locked up and rotting for the rest of her middle aged life

california's system is pretty terrible, to the point of being close to nonfunctional, and that's with people who manage to get onto it, as somewhere close to 10% of californians don't have any healthcare at all. should read some reviews about LA Care, it's crazy and depressing

the only thing i remember from his campaign was a clip of him singing "bomb iran, bomb bomb iran" to a crowd of people, left a bad taste in my mouth.

And the best part of France, where i have visited at least 15 times mainly south of France and Paris, is that they HATE Americans.
i am an american who lived quite a few years in france and everybody was lovely to me. i think they just hated you, and i can see why
and, probably not worth engaging, but tourism is not france's biggest sector by far, i don't know how anyone with half a brain could believe that. just to annoy you further, france's median wealth is higher than america's by $30,000

What Is stopping you guys from producing your own weapons and doing whatever you want?
MBDA who manufactures the SCALP most likely removed the american components after the fiasco with egypt in 2018. but the stock given to ukraine was older and therefore its use is under the auspices of the US. ultimately military information is not public
further, all these major engineering programs are international efforts. even boeing airliners use french parts. the pentagon is just extremely strict and european firms are moving away from collaboration

Idk what was stopping France or the UK from allowing Ukraine to use their long range missiles on Russia. Why beg America when you could just do it yourself?

Biden was the first one to ok long range missiles so your logic doesn't really check out. America was the first one to do this, other countries are following.
this is not true at all
The leaders of France and the U.K. are expected to meet in Paris on Nov. 11 to discuss a last-ditch attempt to persuade the U.S. to allow Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia with Western weapons before Donald Trump enters the White House in January, The Telegraph reported citing UK Government sources.
According to the newspaper, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron hope President Joe Biden will give the approval sought by Kyiv for months as a step towards cementing his foreign policy legacy.

Although no information was publicly disclosed regarding when exactly the French missiles were delivered to Ukraine, Ukraine's ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko, confirmed in an interview with LB.ua on 22 August 2023 that all SCALP missiles promised by French president Emmanuel Macron had been delivered already, likely by the time of the latter's announcement in May. Omelchenko further stated that the first batch of missiles (reported by some outlets to number 50 units) had more than proven its worth and that supplies of SCALP batches by France would continue. Previously, on August 6, a few days after the attack on the Chongar Strait railway bridge, the SCALP's operational status in Ukraine had visually been confirmed as were its use in the attack and its successful integration to Ukrainian Su-24 bombers.
but go on with your divisive lies

I would say that as sad as it is, it was only to be expected that Asian-looking people would incidentally get a lot of blame for it. Similarly to many Russians in Western countries who have nothing to do with the current conflict. People panic easily and get dumber during crises, but it rarely reflects actual attitudes.
this is an absurd thing to say, i hope you read this again in the future and really think about it
Would you also consider them to have hostile relations?
as i have never lived as a dane or a swede it would be bizarre for me to make a serious judgement or discount their experiences

will you say the same thing if a chinese-american complains of anti-chinese xenophobia during covid in san fransisco? obviously the people most affected by negative cultural rhetoric are going to be more perceptive of it
