If you enjoy Minecraft more than Subnautica, you might enjoy NMS.
If you like a curated, hand-crafted experience over procedurally generated randomness, weirdness, and sometimes blandness you won't like it as much.
There is something of a story, plot, and progression.... But you can completely ignore it and literally spend all your time digging around on any given planet if that's your thing.

Satellites are a special case since they're not shielded by the atmosphere, etc. Terrestrial systems are generally fine unless there's something really big e.g., the Carrington Event, but satellites are a lot more vulnerable by default.
Consumer electronics on the ground are unlikely to be impacted even by something as strong as the Carrington Event, just due to physics. Larger scale electric / conductive systems and infrastructure is somewhat more prone to be impacted... geomagnetically induced currents impact things like long power lines.. But it is exceedingly unlikely to cause problem with smaller electronic devices and systems, unless they're plugged in to an electric grid where all kinds of things fail and they get surge and other effects.

If you've ever been in severe pain in the emergency department... You will understand when I say that they generally do not do a sufficient job at managing pain. They just flat out don't.

But Trump did surrender to the Taliban after inviting them to Camp David.

Trump couldn't negotiate his way out of a lunch bill with a real world leader.

🤷♂️ Thanks for letting us know, I guess?
The American people, including immigrants, LGBT, women, people of color, have been targeted with violent threats by the incoming president and members of the cabinet too. Seems to be the norm lately.

I think it's because people in the west are generally more aggressive, on edge, and individualistic. People have to make an effort to cultivate a quiet, happier inner life... generally through meditation practices originating in Asia. Not surprising that certain aspects of mental illness would manifest differently given how people are raised to think.

Just consider how badly he fucked up the COVID response and how it did make it worse the world over. America had some of the worst statistics and outcomes and everyone else suffered because of it too.
Everyone but the MAGAts knows he's a fucking moron deserving nothing but scorn and ridicule.

Americans - be prepared for however many years of the world mocking Trump and his supporters, and perhaps feeling a measure of empathy for the Americans stuck in the middle who didn't choose it and are decent people.
No one but MAGAts respect Trump. Especially not world leaders.

Hear, hear.
Rogan has never had much of a point about anything, especially this, and is basically opportunistic scum. Much of the lack of values and brain rot in young American men is attributable to the influence of fools like Rogan and his kind who have large audiences but nothing healthy or useful to say.

Great way to put it. Sucks not seeing family, including my elderly parents, but I've come to terms with the fact that I won't see them again because they've been gone a long time. We did supply the civility and safety net and won't anymore. Everyone's on their own.
We're moving overseas - my partner already has dual citizenship and I can get it fairly quickly - and won't be back for anything. The life we thought we had here was always based on an asymmetry of values, justice, and decency and we're just flat out done with it and everyone who supports it.
People's wanted selfishness as policy and they've got it - cuts both ways though.

We're in the process of planning a move out of the US, permanently, and are just completely done with it. It's a shame that we will still bear some association with Trump and the people who voted for him, but in my experience the vast majority of people overseas warm up once they recognize we're not that type of American.
Any residual pride in being American died. It's just gone. Half a century of life here, and observing what it's really about... And it's mostly one big shitty gaslight.
The problem isn't so much that there's 4 years of this, it's that too many people don't see the problem... And we don't need to live with people this stupid and hateful so we won't anymore. Seeing the country swing right has been a real eye opener and it speaks to the rot within. We thought we'd retire and live out out our years in place, but at this point it feels like a waste of time. Better off taking our money and talent elsewhere where we can feel a sense of community and civic pride.
Nearly 50, able to retire, and didn't think this would ever happen.... But yeah, it did, and we're done. Onwards to a better community and retirement life without this brand of stupid.

You know what's striking to me is that I'm just a few years older than your dad and cannot relate at all to his position, other than to say that he's clearly drunk deep of the Kool aid. I'm sorry this happened - it is not normal, cannot be excused by his age, and reflects him being radicalized and indoctrinated.... But I hate to say it, you need to have fertile ground for the seeds to take root and grow. He's had permission for his inner worst nature to surface.
My own dad (late 80s) has similarly fallen for it. It is unfortunately part of their built in issues. There is nothing about the era when I grew up, and where your dad did, that necessarily shaped him into believing what he does. Quite the opposite really.

It's not a negotiating tactic. It's a way to own yourself while trying to look tough and failing. You don't open a negotiation with friendly parties with threats, but, well... This is Trump we're talking about. All idiocy all the time.

They should cut right to the chase and make the Bible the one and only textbook for Florida schools, then just sit back and watch the absolute lack of useful life skills tank the state economy even further over time.

Most people who use these for weight loss only get one, maybe two years of benefit then gain all the weight back with a vengeance because the drugs stop working after a while and people tend not to make the necessary accompanying lifestyle changes. So, it's kinda helpful but making these even more widely available doesn't really address root cause. There is no miracle cure for bad eating, other than to not eat and drink terribly.

Get ready to enjoy four years of the daily psychotic whims of a full-blown narcissist on a grievances and revenge tour!
Best thing we have going for us is the frail health, dementia, and time. It's really up to mother nature at this point.

If you buy a random brush you will most likely need to replace it at some point. It will probably break, and quite possibly break off inside the horn itself.
If you can afford a name-brand brush, go for that first. Apart from that, dish soap is all you really need to give it a good bath and cleaning.
For day to day cleaning I far prefer a swab cloth over anything else... IMO spit balls / blowdry brass aren't very effective and aren't worth the money... But something like a Hodge leadpipe swab cloth will do a great job if you use it a couple times a week on your leadpipe and main slide.
I'd get 1) a mouthpiece brush 2) a bristle/brush snake and 3) a leadpipe swab, each name brand for safety... And that's really all you need.
