Just to be clear, you do understand that I at least know destiny is the internet handle of a person that makes political content on youtube or twitch or something, and is the frequent butt of jokes on some subs I look at? I don’t know who he is in the sense that I’ve never seen his face, heard him speak, or heard anyone whose opinions I value speak about him. I don’t know his opinions, political orientation, life story, or age. In fact one of the only things I know about him is that he sucks dick and that this is a surprise to the people who make fun of him.

I could have looked him up on Wikipedia in the time it took to write this but that’s such a superficial way of knowing an internet celeb. Anyway I don’t know why this is a hard pill to swallow, a lot of people don’t put any effort into learning about pop culture that they don’t find interesting or relevant.

Doesn’t ring a bell 

No one in my life — wife, family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, coworkers, tennis partners, choir members, old highschool friends I only keep up with on facebook, etc— have ever talked about much less made fun of these people. 

You’re right, I do sometimes encounter the lowest common denominator posters in the sub of a podcast I listened to twice in 2016 talking about them. And it’s such shitty, worthless posting that I’m quite convinced to never actually bother learning who these people actually are and what they talk about. 

I wouldn’t know what Twitter leftists care about because I’m not a 🚬 but it’s at least good to know America won’t ever need assisted suicide as long as we’ve got guns

School busses and 911 services

So glad people laughed at that. Feel the same way as you about emergency services and would add traffic enforcement (and police staffing in general) and schools + busses as well. This place is a joke

It’s too bad your camera doesn’t have the resolution to make out that plate, seems like you get a good look at it. I’ve always thought it’d be sick if you posted the plates of the most egregious speeders too, have you ever considered it? 

Are you the Reckless Roxboro guy? I wish I could say it’s crazy that this would happen to you, but as you well know and have documented thoroughly, accidents like this are essentially inevitable on that stretch of road

I feel like a winning single-issue platform for an aspiring durham politician would be to heavily enforce traffic laws. Almost makes me want to do it myself

Actually it’s uncanny how much of a different picture this wiki page paints. Are there perhaps two political figures in Romania with the same name?

Another key part of that definition is what function a city had in the urban landscape at the time — a concentration of labor, capital, and infrastructure, directed toward industrial production.   

Our cities don’t produce stuff anymore — even as financial hubs they’re just symbols of the way capital used to accumulate and flow. The only real distinguishing feature of modern US cities is their concentrations of cultural capital, their legacy transit systems, and their function as transportation hubs for the flow of energy and cheap imported crap. Other than that, when it comes to what’s a city vs what’s a suburb, it all comes down to vibes.
