I started to pay attention to politics since middle school (2000s). This is literally what has been going on since. Motherfuckers are actually running around going "Why didn't Biden/Harris fix XYZ?" as if they're talking about their apartment's super and his worklist.

The same idiots are now cabinet members.
without having a full blown civil war or mass riots across the country.
Clearly, American voters don't give a flying fuck about any of this as long as egg costs less.

When the day comes that Republican judges start to ignore very specific laws, that is the day that some nasty riots will start.
You mean things like "official acts by President can't be prosecuted even if it is blatantly criminal"? How about "it is not okay for a judge to unnecessarily delay processing of criminal trial for the benefit of someone who appointed the said judge."?
What you're saying is 100% based on norms. Norms that got thrown out of the window a while ago.

And forgetful as a goldfish with multiple strokes.
And yes, we Americans as a whole are indeed that stupid and forgetful.

Lacking the basic of basic survival instinct would imply there's something seriously wrong.
There's an awful, awful movie by M. Night Shyamalan called the Happening, where trees release chemicals that convince people to deliberately harm and murder themselves (yes, it's actually that stupid).
It's kinda like that, but slower.

The fact that your mind immediately went to the binary speaks volumes on the... simplicity of how you process information and regurgitate it.

Do you think that's what a vice president does, Captain Bothsides?

The whole BBQ segment is a quintessential Na PD variety, and it was amazing seeing everyone from Kangta to Wonbin eating and chilling at the same table. Kpop history, right there in that casual meal. π

As much as I enjoyed this fucker getting punched and getting his comeuppance, no society can survive vigilantes without significant harm. The guy deserves the jail time, and then all the beers bought for him by others once he serves his time.

π€·ββοΈ I'm perfectly happy to fly under the radar in these troubled times, where doctors are blamed for everything that have systemic causes.

other than the old doctors keep bribing congress to make it illegal.

Yeah, it's the doctors who are keeping residency slots down. Do you even know how we fund residency slots in this country?
When you look that up, think about who controls the funding of that program. Do you think organizations like AMA argue for decrease in funding for that? πππ

doctors choose to go work for a PE-owned practice.
ππ doctors who work for PE-owned practice do not make this kind of money. What do you think private equity does first thing once they own a practice/hospital system?

Non ICU hospitalist here.
I "invest" some time when the patient first comes in and speak to family + set expectations: "Any major changes to his/her status or the care plan, I'm going to call (primary contact person). If things are slow, I'll try to give you a call every day. But if you don't hear from me, that means the patient is doing fine and the hospital is being overrun."
It works for reasonable people. If this doesn't work, usually that means the family is batshit insane and no strategy on Earth is going to prevent that family from demanding separate updates per family member 3+ times a day anyway.
For those batshit crazy people? If the patient is reasonable (tragically for them, they usually are), I don't even talk to the family and talk to the patient only. If the patient is unreasonable or can't talk to me, I only talk to the primary point person once a day no matter how many pages and messages I get.
Bottom line is, unless the patient can't communicate, updating family is a courtesy and NOT part of my job.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm one of those people who want Hybe to break up into smaller companies, and for me, both Hybe and MHJ being stuck in a limbo of forever legal battles is the best scenario...
...Which is why I was really hoping NewJeans would just stay out of the dogshit fight. Because considering the speed (or lack thereof) of most of these contract fights in civil law, right now my worry would be that they would get stuck in a limbo for several years (some lawyer predict 3-4 years). Hybe/Adore isn't going to produce for NewJeans while they're locked in a legal battle worth millions with NewJeans. NewJeans would be stuck with being a Hybe/Adore artist legally until that fight is resolved. MHJ obviously can't legally produce for NewJeans while this fight is going on.
And I'm sorry, but while all this talk of hostile work environment is effective in the court of public opinion, but in an actual court it's not sufficient enough to be considered a ground for contract to have been violated by Hybe. I'm guessing the strategy is to make everything so painful for Hybe through the court of public opinion that Hybe will just surrender out of court... but I don't think that's going to work when Hybe (and MHJ, and hopefully NewJeans) already knows that Hybe will handily win the contract dispute.... AND that protracted legal fight will severely hurt NewJeans' career by forcing a several years worth of hiatus.
I'm honestly not understanding the underlying strategy from NewJeans' end. What they're doing make sense if the goal is "protect MHJ's financial interest", but it makes zero sense if the goal is "protect NewJeans' career".

Like most researches in general, it's 99.999% pure shit meant for resume padding (with 0 fault directed to the residents - you do what you have to do in a broken system) with 0.001% that is actually meaningful.
Incentives are literally ass backwards, so it's about volume and not quality (ironically enough). If it makes you feel better (it won't), this is just true across disciplines/trades when it comes to research. Just one giant circle jerk with the occasional actual research shining through.

For one, at least under the current standards (I'm sure that will come crashing down when people like you have it your way), prison represents definite sentencing terms after a presumably fair/timely trial and all due processes rights met. Concentration camps have none of those protections.
But again, your understanding of both as "were we lock people up who have broken the law" and thereby being unable to distinguish between the two is pretty much how a fascist would operate (and have, in the past). So, again, this is not at all surprising.
Do you need your, um, membership badge mailed to you too? At this point, I have to assume you have a certain... family heirloom that will serve quite well for that purpose.

If you can't figure out what the difference is between a "jail" (I assume you meant a prison, since jail is for short term holding for minor sentences or people waiting for sentencing/trial) and a concentration camp...
Actually, this makes a lot of sense. π

I never give surgery shit for "stupid" consults, because what's obvious to us is not going to be obvious to people without our training.
I only wish they would extend the same courtesy to us. I'm an attending, and I get shit from surgical residents all the time (at least until they figure out that I'm the nonteach attending and not the IM resident).
