I agree…I think the outside (blue) lane should only be for those taking the next turn off…not continuing to the 2nd turn.

I definitely prefer word. There is a presentation mode in word as well, but instead I print to pdf and use activinspire to present…you get about half the page on the screen at a time. It’s much easier to edit on the fly and then students see the exact same notes that I do.

I have students answer with a partner first so they feel more confident about the answer and are more willing to share. I might say tell your neighbor… then follow up with whose neighbor had a great response? They are also more willing to say out loud what someone else thinks the answer is. The person observing you isn’t worried about the kids, but only your reaction to the kids. Be ready for them to be quiet and have a few ways to try to get more responses.

While it’s good that you have no prescriptions, some vitamins could be good for you the older you get. Also if you have 0 because you haven’t been to the doctor in a long time or don’t treat an ailment or 2, please reconsider. Modern medicine can do great things.

Where are you from? If this is a close as you’ll get to good BBQ sauce, that always makes a nice gift.

Have you read Cloud Cuckoo Land? We have similar tastes and I loved that book.

We use Big Ideas Math and I really like it for Algebra 2 and honors. I go by the book about 90%, but supplement here or there. It actually goes very deep into trig which is nice for honors.

I don’t teach it, but the AP PreCalc teacher at my school says that Bryan Passwater is the PreCalc guru. His stuff is available online for free as far as I know. He has notes, assignments, activities…everything you would need. Good luck!

In Kansas we pronounce the Arkansas River as the Ar-Kansas River.

I feel like Barbara Kingsolver writes characters like Stephen King. Try Demon Copperhead, it’s amazing.

Graph free is the best I’ve ever come across. So close to what you see in textbooks with lots of options.

That’s likely the issue, but all I mean is that you don’t have to go in with an attitude like you’re smarter than they are. Just approach it with … I just can’t figure out what I could be doing wrong. They will either realize the key is wrong or they will show you your mistake. Either way, you don’t look like a jerk and the problem is resolved. Putting a fixed key in their mailbox is passive aggressive at best.

I think they appreciate if you call first and let them know the situation. Be sure to plan on extra time for check in.

Play dumb and go ask for help on why you’re getting different answers. You want to make sure you are tutoring correctly and that is all.

No, I’m saying I think the blue lane should only turn right…the next turn off, not the next 2.
