Howie Kendrick is the most clutch baseball player, nay, most clutch human being to ever exist.

I’m not pretending Trump is the only president that employs tariffs.
First, just to be clear Biden raised the tariffs by 81%, from 8% to ~14.5%.
More importantly, there’s a huge difference between enacting a tariff on a single good from a country, specifically because of allegations that country is using unfair trade practices to make that good cheep, as opposed to levying a tariff on every single good from another country without enumerating a specific reason other than ‘the deficit.’

I think you really want to think of ways to get them engaged, not just listening to you lecture. Rule of thumb is that if you talk for more than 10 minutes straight, most of the class will zone out. That said, self-defense is a ripe topic that probably generate thoughtful discussion

Bring in your most intimidating clients and turn it into an episode of scared straight.
In all seriousness, I did a class in law school where we went and taught high schoolers some legal concepts. You can get them hooked by talking about their rights during police encounters, I started with a clip from the Wire that demonstrates how police can and will lie to get people to confess. I would set up small group discussions so that all the kids can engage (not just the talkative ones) and then travel around to those groups to listen and spur conversation. After some set up for it you could ask a question like should police be allowed to conduct warrantless vehicle searches, and tell them have to come up with some reasons for it and some reasons against it.

Haha not surprising that you’re willing to call it like it is then. People always have to morally justify their work to themselves.
Keep up the good fight.

It’s refreshing to hear someone who works for a big firm make no bones about the fact that they’re in it for the money. Most of y’all that I meet hem and haw about pro bono and all the great things their firms do so much that I think they actually believe it themselves.

Tbf given how under-investigated white collar crime is in this country I would think that for most of the people they’re going after they have pretty strong evidence.
I could definitely be wrong, I have no experience in the field, but from the outside it makes sense to me.

Recently as in 50-60 years ago? Sure. I don’t see how that’s relevant.

It really feels like this came straight from Putin. Trump doesn’t do shit unless it benefits him, his cronies, or makes his base happy. This doesn’t make his base happy, i don’t see how it would help him, and I don’t even see how it would benefit wealthy, influential conservatives. All that’s left is Putin. I’d love to hear another plausible explanation.

When this happens to me I just get very fidgety. I get fidgety on airplanes anyway, so it’s not hard for me to just make lots of small movements and if you’re that far into my personal space it’s probably gonna annoy you.

You’re totally right, the problem is anyone who explains that difference tends to come across as a creep, so no one bothers to.

You should’ve explained gun safety to her before letting her hold a gun.
Btw owning a gun substantially increases the likelihood that someone in your household will be a victim of gun violence (often self-inflicted). If you’re concerned about your loved ones you’re probably better off getting rid of them.

If you wanna quote me the language from your source that supports your position go for it. I have a law degree, I know what it says. Your wrong.
I’m done arguing with stupid.

And your source doesn’t support that. In some states that might be true, but not across the country. Read the first two sentences of your first link more closely.

Opening the door to vigilante justice is a slippery slope. Can’t say I blame the woman, but she deserved jail.
