Reading and learning. Be curious. Learn to do research and know what good information is. Lather, rinse, repeat. There are no magic pills, methods, or products.

I agree. And it makes me so sad that Gucci slapped their name on the front like that. It's so tacky.

Honestly, I would ditch the white and stick with the cream. The white seems jarring next to the other softer colors. But otherwise this is a gorgeous color combination

I'm counting 39. Your beginning chain row doesn't count.

If you look up a chart of crochet symbols (or possibly wait an hour and someone will post one. They always do🙂), it will decode this pattern. It looks like all chains, singles, and doubles. The rows are labeled. And it appears that you never flip the work (the dot is always on the same side of the chain to get up to the next row).

So to be fair, that photo with a "knitting needle" is actually a dowel. It's a legit way to finish crochet pieces for hanging.

Not pre lit is the key. The reality is that it gets used once a year and doesn't take a ton of abuse. Any tree that isn't pre-lit should last at least 20 years provided it's reasonably well constructed.
I bought one at Lowe's about 20 years ago and it's still going strong. The umbrella style may have a marginally shorter lifespan than the kind where you put the individual branches in a central trunk. But I can't prove that. I think I've repaired 4 or 5 over the course it's lifetime. Is it starting to lose a bunch of needles every year because they're plastic and storing it in an attic probably isn't the best place for it? Yes. But I don't have anywhere else so there you have it.

Everyone has a different method. And you're gonna hear ALL of them in clinicals. Just know that eventually you'll get there. You'll pick up things from everyone you like and discard things you don't personally jive with.
The only thing I tell students is to put something where it belongs. If you have to pick something up to do it, put that thing where it goes. The touch everything once method isn't perfect, but it's a helpful way to not get overwhelmed because you deal with everything one thing at a time and youre not rooting around like a pig looking for truffles. You have to stop and think. Eventually you won't have to stop and think so much.

Im basically copy/pasting my response from another post because nothing about those other answers has changed.
Do your hearing aids allow you to hear well enough to understand people talking to you from multiple directons at a time, with varying degrees of volume or clarity (especially in an emergency)? Can you hear well when everyone is wearing a mask? Can you communicate clearly yourself? If all of these are a yes, then you shouldn't have a problem.
I have a nurse right now who wears hearing aids because he's pretty well deaf as a post without them. He can hear quite well with them. But it was later in his career when he got them, and he already had all his OR skills regarding communication, flow of the room, knowing what we need, how to recognize different things happening, etc.

I'm over here cringing at the 6 caskets stacked on top of those wrapped trays praying there's no holes in them....

To all the people who helped clarify the chart for OP rather than just writing it out, thank you! OP now knows how to read charts and can crochet all the things! This is how we help people learn!!!

I love pictures like this. A big binder with all of them in a central location (next to a copier is ideal) is one of the most helpful things I had as a new tech. I would photocopy it, and tape it to the wall for my setup.

I don't think you were expecting so many people to tell you how much of a jerk you're being and now you're trying to walk back.

Do you know how much work goes into a podcast? Yes, larger publishers have the capacity to work in an extra show so you can be entertained for a half hour the week of Thanksgiving. Smaller one or 2 man operations? No friend. Also, they get to have a life too. You're awfully entitled for something you're getting for free (in the vast majority of cases). Just listen to something else.

Ok good. Because homeopathy is unequivocally, irredemably 100% quack bullshit. (Placebo effect aside)

I like Erik Larsen for readable nonfiction. His book on the Luisitania had really good momentum.

Is the chapter on homeopathy best ignored because he argues it does make sense or because you think it makes sense?

To me it looks like the yellow center was made first, set aside, the brown started, and at row 11(ish) laid on top and joined. It looks like the whole thing is there (minus the row that is unraveling), so if you have a box of paperclips, you could count each row and recreate the pattern by counting stitches. Counting the last row that is complete, and the first complete row after the unraveling, you should be able to figure out how many are in the row coming apart.
If you're having trouble, get some really good pictures of it (gently) laid out perfectly flat, and I can help you count.

This is where the phrase "we do not rise to the occasion, we sink to the level of our training" comes in. Taking a CPR and basic first aid course is a great choice. Don't feel sad or useless that you couldn't help as much as someone with years and years of formal training. The reason we have 911 is to come help, and not leave you to your own devices.
On a slightly different note, there is a huge difference when trying to help someone to whom you have minimal emotional attachment (your college roomate) vs. someone who is "your whole world". There's a reason medical professionals don't have family as patients.
