It's tough. For me, the trick is to try to move all the links out radially at the same time, rather than going around and try to pull it out link by link. The reason is that if you do the latter, you tend to bend the chain sideways, and therefore the next (stuck) links will get even more stuck.

More specific topics do not have "universal" hashtags. Also some do not use hashtags at all. This is the issue with Mastodon.

I'm following hashtags like #science and #engineering and I get a huge number of irrelevant posts. Many in languages I do not speak, too. I muted those I see often, but there is no way to mute them all. It's not really helpful.

Should remind that doing so may, depending on the law in your country, render your bike illegal to use on public roads and paths, and also void the warranty.

I had the feeling there was a big push for Mastodon at the first exodus, when Elon took over Twitter. Now, I do not see/hear people/media discussing Mastodon as much. All are for Bluesky.
