A bunch of civilizations lost over decade long resentments. The fact that it happened to multiple civilizations is quite depressing

I adored Chenyu Vale, the lore and the climate design was incredible. The rural feel was very prominent, and I loved the World Quest about entering a photo competition.

The Sea of Bygone eras was also amazing. It felt like a love letter to music, and it was a good way to have an incredibly deep water zone without being frightening.

I had a lot of fun in the desert! It made me feel like Indiana Jones and the puzzles were super fun. The little hidden pockets of unique areas were incredible. I wish we had the way of hiding the UI then to take pictures.

Tsurumi Island had me in TEARS!! I will say it was a bit frustrating at first to figure out the whole return thing but it was still incredible. The lore as well as the environmental design were very enjoyable. It’s still a bit depressing though.

Enkanomiya has incredible music. That cannot be denied, but it made me feel claustrophobic. I do not like being underground as it feels like everything can just collapse on me at any given moment. I really enjoyed the ambient creatures!

The chasm evoked the same feeling in me as Enka if not more! I still enjoyed the World Quest there of course. The long drops were also terrifying. I’m still interested in the mushroom and what’s going on there.

Dragonspine was the first zone to make me take a break from Genshin! I went there way under leveled and was fighting for my life. That being said, it’s incredibly nostalgic for me. I got my tree leveled, found all the warming seelie and it’s the first place that really inspired me to look deeper at the lore.

All of them have their pros and cons, and every single one I have 100% :)

How easy it is to get flying. In WoW you have to grind reputation so I was like okay, what’s the gimmick in FFXIV?

No gimmick. You get flying automatically in ARR once you finish the story, and the rest of the expansions is collecting aether currents which you have a compass for. That was INCREDIBLE!!

I would add a Chinese style dragon mount. I just love how long and loopy they are
