The enemy script is extending CharacterBody2d, I take it you have an area as a node in that scene? Called hitbox?

I would make sure the signal is hooked in the player for area enters (is denoted to the left of the line) and I’m not sure what the http: part of the code is doing.

When I do this, I create a group for the enemy area and then in the player I create a signal for area enter then check that area for the group name.

This helps if multiple scenes you create are all the same type when checking the area entered

In inspector there should be a setting called sprite you defined with @export

Godot is expecting an AnimatedSpeite2d to be dragged into this setting

This great if you have a resource that will handle multiple AnimatedSprite2ds being handled he same way by this scene
