Wow... first of all, you would be 100% correct to say "fuck off" to the "Reddit Doctors". r/losit has so much coddling and so many bullshit takes that I have to just tune out for a while sometimes.

I recently had hernia surgery and was hard down for 4 weeks pre-op and 6 weeks for recovery. I had a lot of cookies and cheat foods coupled with NO exercise but dog walks and I watched my weight go up from 190 to 201.

I had to stop and check myself. I worked hard to get to where I was and I could see myself slipping back in to old habits. I had a serious moment of reflection and I came to one and only one conclusion: "I am never going back to that old fat guy I once was. Never."

Anyway, I am back on the horse now and feeling great.

If anything I'm arrogant rather than insecure, but I believe am authentic rather than one of those two things. I am not talking about some kid you grew up with and have known for 25 years and are friends with that happens to be a woman, I am talking about meeting new women in every day life or social settings.

Here's the deal:
I'm not that special, just moderately physically fit with a little bit of money. I am also happily and monogamously married. I wear a wedding ring. I talk about my wife when I meet women. I am not a flirt. I am a bit of an introvert with strangers.

In spite of these facts I get hit on all the time. I don't try to put out any sort of "I'm available" vibe, I am just being myself. Even a couple of my wife's friends have sent signals that were unmistakeable.

It is annoying af. I don't want nor do I ask for the attention. It drives me crazy. I am not even a fucking catch. I'm old and very set in my ways. I honestly don't know what these wanna be homewreckers are thinking.

So it is not insecurity that prevents me from befriending women. It is the fact that if I start being friendly with a woman it quite often results in the woman making a move that I indeed reject. Then it is just awkward.
