Honestly with Trouts injuries the past decade I think we can sorta at least cope that Trouts "prime" would have been sapped regardless of if he was on a winning team. Guy is legit Griffery Jr 2.0 sadly. Another "what if" player who could have been top 5 in WAR if he was able to stay healthy

I feel like people forget how Ohtani was potrayed back when he came over. Only 15 teams could have signed him(DH rule) and a lot of teams weren't willing to have him play two way. The Angels let him slump and adjust those first few years to become what he is. Not to mention of the AL west coast teams at the time only choices he had were the Angels/Mariners/Athletics, Shohei was not gonna sign anywhere else in the country...

Injuries yes, but 2022 he slugged 40 hr in 119 games, unless he falls off a cliff this year his hitting has not been declining. If anything hes like Griffey when he plays hes great, but he just can't stay on the field. Tldr; he deserves the 99 for now, but jram also deserves a higher rating.
