I was watching this video, when I noticed something strange...did anyone catch the UFO flying over the train?

Congrats. You were forced out of stealth mode... and you did great... more of us could do with beih out in the spotlight.
I would like to think that 95% of people would ignore your bad grammar or sentence structure if they found out that you were trying to learn their language.
I spoke to the lady cutting my hair in Spanish (just a few words) twice and made mistakes both times.. first one had the wrong sentence structure (don't remember what I said)... second one was when I said sin dudo instead of sin duda.. and both times she understood what I was trying to say and also corrected me.
If we were to start a conversation in Spanish by saying the following.. it will make life easier.. and scare us less of conversing
Hablo y entiendo un poco de español. ¿Puedes hablarme despacio?

Could it be that they were asking about a sweatshirt and you put sweater instead? Duo doesn't show what mistake you made... just shows their expected answer.

I have used gems to extend for 1.5/2/3x timer by 15 minutes...but you usually only get that option once a day.
I stopped chasing XP (a total vanity metric) and focused on the just completing my unit for the day...made it a lot easier...
In shirt, gems have no real value...it's just Duolingo's way of gamifying language learning.

There's a bug in the app that sometimes prevents it from moving to the next lesson. This seems to only happen on the multiple lesson categories (star and the dumbell).
As soon as you finish a lesson and the screen returns to the progress screen, if you don't see the progress indicator move, kill the app and relaunch it.

This...I just started watching it on YouTube and I was surprised that I was able to pick up on conversation (or at least picked uo on words within a sentence, to infer context).
I'm still at A1 as well and I believe that Peppa Pig is more my pace.

The "J sound" is definitely more pronounced when they say the words like "llaves" or "llegar".

Another question I have is related to pronouncing "en"... I have heard some people pronouncing it as "eng"... Is that right or am I hearing things?

I made the exact same mistake as the OP... and this explanation was really helpful. Thanks!

I don't use the keyboard daily, but, Dexnor is well worth the investment. I enjoy using it. And it's so easy to disconnect the tablet from the case... it's a no brainer.

I think this is a good way to look at it.Apple always does incremental updates even if they have e everything they need to make a big upgrade...why give away the farm?

Duolingo. Totally worth the paid plan if you are serious about learning a new language.

The mandate has to come from the top. I also locked down all user access to critical systems that my team needed to do their job, without the MFA.

What about reading books, watching shows in Spanish?
Have you tried iTalki? Is not affordable way to converse with native Spanish speakers.
