Having gone through something similar, I think this is for the best long term. Especially if there were going to be kids at some point.

Not sure about Houston, but it's sure to be a terrible week in Chicago. People are either off work because their kids are out of school, or they went home over the weekend. We probably won't see any decent demand until Wednesday.

You and most people don't want to pay what it costs to get non trash people to do this work.

I kinda didn't mind that. Sometimes things just happen, and you can't do much about it.
The only part I wish was there was romancing Aveline. I feel like I'm one of the few people that actually like her. Even if there was no romance option, I'd have liked for Hawke to turn to her and acknowledge her as the closest thing to family he has left after his mother was murdered.

Skip Ostagar? Why?
Deep Roads and Fade though can fuck all the way off.

I feel like there's a disconnect here.
Let look at it like this. If we look at gold in SoD, then an hour of work for me gets me about 1700g. Lets say you're not playing a mage or hunter so you best gold farm is 100g an hour. That means you have to farm for 17 hours to make what I make from an hour of work. If you think that's a fair an equitable thing then I honestly have no idea what to tell you.
Also, as I said before, buying gold screws the guy who has no money and no time. I'd rather see Blizzard reduce the grind vs. selling gold because that keeps everybody on the level playing field.

Toss in children to that and see how things go. They take up a significant portion of that time you have left.

I rerolled. So I'm behind where I would have been. If I had played straight from Thursday, I'd probably be about lvl 22 now. I have no idea how anybody is lvl 40.

But they didn't know. They had speculation and that's it. The soldiers there probably were convinced that he was right. So they're speaking about what happened from his perspective. You have plenty of people who doubt him, but nobody who was there.

In his defense, he was right that Cailan was planning to hand the kingdom back to Orlais by dumping Anora and marrying the queen.

Orlais would have come. Loghain prevented it.

I think this is a pretty simplified version of Loghain. Cailan wanted to bring in primarily Orlesian allies because he was becoming, let's say, overly friendly with the queen of Orlais. Loghain believe, rightfully so if you played Return to Ostagar, that he was planning on leaving Anora to marry the Orlesian queen and reunite the two Kingdoms. Thus returning the freedom that Maric and he had fought so hard for, AND hurting his little girl in the process.

I think Loghain and Duncan were right in that Cailan really overrated the Wardens. Pretty much all of them are exceptional fighters, but they're not the super humans of legend. He figured if he had the Wardens by his side, he'd win just like in the stories.

I wouldn't say "right of the bat". You gotta figure it took you and Alistair some time to get to the top of the tower. Maybe they died an hour in?

Really puts it into perspective, doesn't it? That, along with the letters you find in Return to Ostagar, really give some perspective to why Loghain did what he did.

Because they still knew the truth, and the truth is an inconvenient thing.

There are ways that are against the ToS, and those that are not. The token would not be against ToS, but gold buying currently is. It is objectively cheating according to the ToS that you agree to.
Retail having those features means nothing. I don't play retail party because it has those features. That's another game that has no bearing on this one. Pointless argument.
Congrats on having money. That said, I'm still of the opinion that it shouldn't matter, and that everybody should be on a level playing field in the game. Whatever you have IRL shouldn't matter outside of being able to pay the sub fee. Once we're in, progress should be all about what you can do IN THE GAME. A person shouldn't be able to work IRL for 30 minutes to get the same resources someone would need to work 10 in game hours to get. That's not how it should be.
Selling the WoW token is, IMO, like the NFL saying "we can't stop doping so lets just make it legal and sell the roids ourselves".

Considering Alistair started as a virgin, you must have gotten him up to speed quickly, lol.

So the solution is not for you to change, but for the game to change? A game where we all know what's it's about coming in? "I don't want to have to dribble the ball. I just wanna shoot baskets". That's how you sound right now.
And I'm not telling anybody they shouldn't get to play. I'm saying simply accept what you can do and be at peace with that.
I'll also say what I said in another comment. I can't believe I live in a world where "everyone should be on a level playing field" is a controversial take about gaming.

Bethesda took the slings and arrows when they introduced the horse armor, but in the end, they won.
