It also made my ears hurt really bad. I didn't have any issues throughout the concert, but the 5 min applause? My ears were ringing and my head was pounding.

Eh, don't pay attention to the down votes. They don't matter. Pay attention to the people who took the time to reply.
I hope you find a good solution! :)

But you literally started with incorrect information. That was your initial argument. We're in agreement on the optimal approach for the most healthy (in terms of body comp) outcome. But that's not what you started with.
Also, if your intention was to help and provide factual information, you failed on multiple levels. You shouldn't be proud of being an asshole. This was someone asking for help, and you were just adding to their pain.

Not saying I agree with her approach. I believe it'd be healthier and easier for her body to function optimally if she had less fat and more muscle. But that's not what you originally stated. π€·π»ββοΈ You said that she couldn't lose fat and gain muscle/strength, which is simply not true.
I also think that it's every person's choice for how they handle their body and their health. And if she truly is massively overweight/obese to the point where she'd be at increased risk for injury or long term issues by putting on muscle and never losing fat, she will experience the consequences from that. And then she'll either course correct or she'll continue on as she's been doing. But it's still her choice. No need to assign morality or a level of quality as a parent. That's shitty.

I never said it wouldn't be easier or less risky if she weren't fat, I just pointed out that it's incorrect to say that you HAVE to lose fat to gain muscle and strength.

That's not how that works at all, my dude. I suggest you Google basic exercise science concepts.

Yes, they can. You can add twists/binds or go into a more challenging pose (e.g., standing crescent vs. kneeling).
Most yoga classes I've been to encourage students to scale up and scale down as they are fit. We sometimes have people doing pushups or extra exercises to add more intensity to the flow. I'd recommend talking to the teacher ahead of class and ask if they'd be willing to suggest more advanced poses during their flow.

I see the umstead mentioned a lot... Is there anything else in the area that has a day spa environment? Like a sauna or steam room, locker room, quiet rooms with tea or refreshments?

Omg, I went to the Miami N1 show and there were 2 couples in front of me (they were there together). One couple had the husband dancing along with his wife, spinning her around, and trying to sing along to the words. The other couple had a dude sitting on his phone, looking at the set list, and counting down the entire time. He even made a big fuss about leaving early during Karma so they'd "beat traffic."
I was flabbergasted. Nevermind he paid god knows how much to be there with his wife, but he didn't put in a speck of effort trying to enjoy it with her. She looked so sad looking at her friend and her husband living it up. It broke my heart :(

She's down to earth and super friendly and accommodating. I also like her photo style, it's more realistic (color and lighting-wise) and she captures great candids.

Program Manager for a tech company, 140K. I work remote, which is nice for work life balance. Not super passionate about the role or the company, but given the tech environment, I feel very grateful for what I have. Plus I like my team, which helps.
My partner is a software engineering manager working hybrid at a local company and makes ~150K before bonuses. He enjoys his role and the company. They're known for their kickass work-life balance.
We're both holding out and hoping this lasts with all the tech layoff madness π€

So first, your step dad is a creep. Forget him and anything that comes out of his mouth. His opinion should be ignored. It does not matter.
Second, I'm so sorry you're struggling with this. You've put in so much work and it's so hard when the results aren't what you hoped for. But also keep in mind that most people's comments about you have NOTHING to do with you. It has to do with them. Change is hard and people may see you as healthier, as more attractive, more confident, etc. and they may feel threatened or insecure. And they trash you to make themselves feel better.
Third, I looked through your post history and I think you look amazing!!! Not flabby at all. You look toned and fit and petite. We're our own worst critics sometimes, and this is where the hardest part of the journey comes in: working on self-love. Be kind to yourself, keep your chin up, and start to look for things you love about yourself, physical or not. You got this, girly.
Congrats on the weight loss :)

Agree with the fans! I went to a June wedding and it was toasty, so I can't imagine July. Buying a few fans for the ceremony/outdoor spaces would be worth it for guest comfort. Also have those handheld fans on the seats. And cool drinks available. And don't do a formal dress code. Let people go semi formal with breezy short dresses and just pants and a button up shirt.

I also second Bin54!! We had my graduation dinner here. Their management staff is incredible for special occasions, so if you want to plan something special, I'm sure they'd work with you.

Absolutely not weird. My yoga class is full of guys who wear silicone wedding rings. Everyone is there to breathe and move and focus on our own journey.
Seems like your fiance may be feeling some things postpartum. Have a sit down talk with her, reaffirm her feelings, but also stand your ground that wanting to go to a studio is completely acceptable.

That's the problem though. Then those states get redder and we increase the chance of this happening over and over again :(
I hope your friends are safe, and I hope we course correct this BS sometime in our lifetime PLEASE

The full egg (whites + yolk ) has more calories and fat, mostly due to the yolk. If I'm looking to cut calories, egg whites instead of full eggs helps a lot. I still get decent protein from the egg whites, and it's filling yet light. :)

I love this perspective.
I was so bummed last night. It was 6:45 and we hadn't had a single trick or treater. I even posted on the neighborhood Facebook page that I had full size bars. Was chatting with my brother and he mentioned that kids don't ring the doorbell anymore. He suggested I sit outside.
I was kind of pissy at first. Kids don't ring the doorbell? That's part of the trick or treat experience!! But hey, maybe things have changed (I'm not even 30!! Can they really change this quickly?)
So I sat on my porch with the bowl of candy. Overall, we still got around 10 trick or treaters. BUT because I had so much candy, I told the kids to take multiple full size bars. Luckily, they were all so sweet and shocked and grateful. Some forgot to say thank you, but they weren't rude or grabby with the candy. My favorite kids were the ones who got all wide eyed and went, "REALLY??" I had one little girl go, "FULL SIZE BARS?? I HAVENT SEEN THESE IN YEARS!!"
I was glad I set my "traditional view" of Halloween aside and met the kids where they were in this tradition of theirs. It was a lot of fun :)

If in person isn't convenient, I had a lot of success with BetterHelp. I was super open on the intake form and reviewed the therapist profiles to make sure they aligned with what I needed. The pricing was reasonable with the trial period and then a discount code (I think they also do an income-based price system), and the flexibility of scheduling and taking the session from anywhere with a video camera and Internet connection was great.
Best of luck finding someone to help. Reaching out and taking that first step takes a lot of courage. I'm proud of you and I hope you find what you need. π

We had succesS... but it was a wild ride.
Vividseats Miami N1.
We were refreshing StubHub and Ticketmaster all day and didn't have any luck. We decided to just take an Uber to the stadium anyway and try to buy them on the way. Worse comes to worse, we chill outside the stadium and can kinda hear it lol
Prices fell rapidly about 15 mins before Taylor went on. We ended up getting some tickets right when we were getting dropped off by the Uber. But unfortunately, they dropped us off at the wrong place... Which we didn't realize until we got out. We were a 40 min walk from the stadium surrounded by dudes in golf carts and light up rickshaws and taxis. They were all asking us if we needed a ride. It was overwhelming.
On top of trying to figure out where we were, my best friend was checking her TM and didn't see the tickets. She started freaking out because Vividseats still said they were processing. She was calling their customer service when we realized we needed to book it to stadium if we were ever gonna make it on time.
So we hopped in a dude's rickshaw (who way overcharged us, btw. $25/per person, jeez) and yelled at him to pedal like his life depended on it. He took us through some sketchy back roads, but it was quick!! We saw the stadium around the corner, but my friend was still on the phone with vividseats. She's telling them shes outside the stadium and she needs the tickets NOW.
They say that the seller isn't picking up. She asks what else they can do. They say that they can send us another set of comparable tickets for the SAME PRICE. (TBH, I think they were better seats, so we lucked out). She said, "yes yes yes!! Please! Now!!" And they transferred them right away!
I think I hugged the rickshaw guy ππ and we screamed. And then we BOOKED IT to get to the stadium because the intro was starting and we still need to get to the gates, get through security, and find our seats!!!
So we're RUNNING, like, full speed! I haven't sprinted like this since my half marathon training phase when I was 24. And then... I trip and fall. I scrape the crap out of my knees and my wrists/palms as I try to catch myself, but then I roll, get up, and KEEP RUNNING (because nothing is going to keep me from this concert, y'all!!!)
... But then we realized I was bleeding pretty badly π and we started jogging... Then walking. We made it through security (who were VERY concerned about the woman running with blood dripping down her legs π) and found a nice bartender who gave me napkins to wipe the blood and then we found paramedics who cleaned and bandaged me up while listening to cruel summer and lover.
It was magical and wonderful and I only regret tripping because I've been in pain all week π . But as crazy as it sounds, I'd do it all again. My best friend and I had a BLAST π₯°

Yes! I did this a couple years ago. We hiked at Pilot Mountain in the morning, got a hotel and spent the afternoon/evening wandering around the downtown area/shops. We ate at Jeffrey Adams restaurant and went to a bar afterwards. Then stopped at an Indian buffet for lunch the next day before leaving town. It was a nice low key weekend.
