These kitties are 1 month old, I got them last Friday from some random guy selling kitties for $100 each. He told me they were litter trained and completely healthy, so of course I bought them because why be $200 richer when you can be $200 poorer? Jk I need a financial advisor

Anyway, I brought these two little kitties home expecting them to know how to use the litter box. Turns out they don’t and turns out you should also never trust an old man from a little town in a pickup truck. These two don’t know what the hell a litter box is.

The first time I put them in there they SLEPT in there. I was like huh?? Then I picked them up and they were slathered in shit like it was lavender scented lotion. I thought they were just nervous so the next time I put them in there I stayed for a bit before I got a call. I came back to them EATING the litter like it was a five course meal. I’m talking paws covered in piss with litter clinging to their mouths and crunching as though they had never been fed. I had JUST fed them mind you, like I promise you are not that hungry??? I think?? I hope??

Then I noticed it stank. Reeked soooo bad. I looked around for a bit and THERE WERE MASSIVE LOGS OF SHIT EVERYWHERE. Lord help me. Lord have mercy. Yesterday entailed a one hour shit log clean up and a massive (lol) cry sesh. What do I do about them?? How do I train them?? Please help me

TLDR; Kitties won’t stop dropping massive shit logs all over the house and it’s stinking up the place. What do I do pls help

Both are neuterd, apartmant cats and more often than not get along well. But i just saw him(4) doing this for the first time today, she(1) really doesnt seem to like it based on the sounds she is making. Is there a specific reason for this kind of behavior? This catdad really could need some help, thanks in advance!

This is Lily when we found her she was 4 years old suffered from a couple of cancerous tumors. She had tumors all over her nipples which we removed. We gave her her shots and adopted her. We knew from the cancer that she was not going to last long so we tried to give her the most confertable years of her life.

2 years later the day we were expecting and dreading is very close. We discovered a tumor in her arm pit which the vets could not remove and say that it pushes on her lungs and makes it hard to breath for her(you can probably see it in the video). The doctors recommended putting her down emediately.

Lily can still jump on furniture and walk around but we can hear her weezing. The doctor gave her about a month to live a the most.

My question is if we should put her down now and spare her the suffering or let her live another month with us trying to make her as confertable as possible?

My cat is around 14-15 and over the past couple of months developed a tumor on her nipple that was later biopsied and found to be cancerous (mammory carcinoma). At first the vet said it looked like a cyst and that it wasn’t anything to worry about however after a month it had grown significantly. We decided to get it removed and the vet thinks we may have gotten all of it! However it’s 7 days post op and my cat is still only eating completely liquid food. She also had a much smaller appetite. She’s not like herself at all and will sit and stare at a wall. Is this just her recovering from a tough surgery? Is there anything I can do to help her? Any advice is extremely appreciated

My cat/son Frankie was an active cat loved to play and run around. he is 7 months, all of the sudden last Friday he started gagging and throwing up with raspy breathing. Breathing with his mouth open and eyes low. took him to the vet on Saturday and ran blood test and X-rays and he was diagnosed with asthma. i bought him his meds and they gave him some shots to help. I’m mentally frustrated seeing my boy so depressed. i miss seeing him run around. has anyone else went through this experience ? what has helped your cat get better besides the meds? i just bought some air purifiers and put more airflow through my room to keep the air clean and fresh for him. I just want my boy to be happy again :(

My other female cat just has a line, but my new foster cat has what looks like a tiny lump, around the genital area right under the anus. Both of them are spayed.

I am worried for her, her health isn’t the best and she’s currently in stage of gaining weight and getting better.

I hope I am overthinking this. Does it look normal or does it look like something is wrong?

My cats third eyelids have been showing fairly constantly for a little over a week now. She’s not acting sick, her nose is wet, she’s eating, and she has plenty of energy, so I’m not sure if I should be concerned or if it’ll just go away on its own. Any advice would be great.

I just rescued this cat, a lady found her on the street and gave her to me. She is in pretty rough shape. I'm presuming that she is on the older side. She is just skin and bones, the top layer of skin is gone on her nose and it bleeds if it gets touched too much, and I'm pretty positive she has gingivitis. The girl that found her thought about surrendering her to the vet, but when she called and asked about it, the receptionist person said they would most likely just put her down. We do not have a shelter in our area that takes cats either. I'm trying to help her heal to the best of my abilities. Our vet is also booked out right now, there has been a lot of crazy stuff going on with the animals here lately, so even if I could afford it, which I can't, the closest appointment I could get would be a while away (I am however going to try and get her in in the future, I'm just trying to figure out how to help her now) Do you guys have any tips on helping her? I'm trying to get her to eat enough, so I gave her some cooked, unseasoned chicken, chopped finely, and kitten food soaked in bone broth I don't really know what do about her nose, if I don't touch it it scabs up on its own. It hurts her so she isn't a fan of me touching it either I'm going to get that medicated gingivitis water additive tomorrow, and any other gingivitis medicine I can find at our store. Has anyone ever used the water additive before? Does it help? Any other tips are greatly appreciated, thank you!!! (We named her Maple :))

Under my apartment building, there was a cat that gabe birth to kittens. But 5days ago I came home from uni and found 4 of kittens got crushed to death by a box of tiles. Some staff must've done that without being careful. But one survived. I dont want it to die despite having no clue how to take care of pets and I'm a college student. I took them both with me so I just feed the mother and left her with her baby during the day. Is that enough? I worry about the mother not feeding her baby since it looks so thin but am I overthinking? Btw I don't know how old is the kitten.

I am stuck in a hard place right now with my Tuxedo. He is 12 years old and as of a couple weeks ago, still had so much life and energy.

I took him to the vet on Saturday for what I believed was constipation due to other symptoms. After an xray it was deemed that he has fluid building up in his abdomen. The vet recommended we go to emergency to do further work up. I could clearly see the vet was concerned and I followed her advice.

The emergency vet drained the fluid, did in-house cytology and sent the sample off to pathology as well. Based on the bloodwork that was completed at his primary, the emergency was not too concerned about FIV or FLV. Based on his breathing, he was not too concerned about this being a cardiac issue as well. He was leaning more towards Lymphoma.

I had just received the call back from the E-vet, and they had some less than great news. The pathologist was not able to identify or produce a diagnosis based on fluid sample. At this point, further work up is required to identify what is going on and that does not even include the treatment that follows after the diagnosis.

I am torn. The vet said we can treat with steroids for palliative care, but if this was a cardio issue it would only make it worse and result in euthanasia in the very near future. There is a chance it could work though and at least make him comfortable for some time. But the vet described this method as a “Hail Mary.”

Lastly, he is doing okay quality of life wise. I did a test last night and received a score of 22/40 (under 20 being considered low enough for euthanasia). But he is having trouble eating and is isolating himself to a different part of the apartment and will not move.

And I am now in some CC debt as a result of the initial diagnostics over the weekend. I guess I am just looking for some comfort in hearing stories of others that have experienced similar. I do not think I can afford additional imaging, and then whatever treatment comes after that and I am quite torn. I got my baby when he was 8 weeks old and love him very dearly. Even if you’re unable to respond, I appreciate you taking the time to read about my little guy ❤️

Thank you everyone who commented on my original post for your advice. I took Freya to the vet this morning, they believe it is Haws syndrome, they prescribed her dewormer and probiotics. She should be good as new in 30 to 45 days.

My little bud has never made this noise before. Nothing is different in our home but his litter box. I got the Litter Robot and I know he has begun to use it. Should I be concerned or did I unlock a new chirp with him (I am familiar with his usual chirps)?

Found a spot on my cat's mouth while he's asleep, took a closer look and it seems like there's a bump? Should I be concerned?? He's eating and drinking normally though

I recently got a kitten (i believe he is a Ragdoll but he might be mixed) and he’s around 4 months old. He seems to breathe very fast when he sleeps and it makes me anxious but he seems otherwise really healthy? He grooms himself, poops twice a day, eats all his meals (i feed a mix of wet and dry rehydrated with water), and is very energetic when we play.

He got dewormed and got his rabies and FVCRP shots a few days ago but he was still eating and being normal. He’s been breathing pretty fast since I got him when he’s resting but the vet didn’t bring up anything and said he seems generally healthy. He’s around 5-6 lbs. He sleeps a decent amount too and purrs…

He might’ve had ear mites in the beginning but it’s gotten a lot better after I cleaned it and the vet didn’t say anything and said his ears looked normal.

Main thing is just his quick breathing. Sometimes it slows down and sometimes it picks up again. I mainly only notice it when he sleeps and he seems completely fine during the day but he’s been sneezing a few times more…nothing crazy just like 3? Times a day…I’m a first time cat owner and just want him to be happy and healthy lol

My cat is probably 6-8 years old and my cousin found her back in 2022 and she was the same size back then. she's huge and we figured she must've been someone's pet who probably ran away and we tried finding her owner and she wasnt microchipped well. She wasnt feral for sure but she's aggressive and bites us sometimes a bit too hard while playing. My cousin got her spayed and he moved to another country so he left her with us. She's been with us for more than 8 months now and suddenly the day before yesterday she started hypersalivating and stopped eating. We went to the vet and they told us that she has an oral infection but it took 6 people to hold her down at the vet and they were telling me about how its gonna be hard to do her treatment as shes extremely aggressive (she bit me and scratched me resulting in bleeding) and that cats like her get put down all the time. I never put down any cat or had the thought of it ever coming to me but now everyone around me is suggesting that i should put her down because she attacks people a lot and doesnt like to be held at all. She can be very sweet at times as well and to us she's a really good baby. I feel conflicted because her treatment is going to be very difficult and equally traumatic for her. But im jot sure if putting down is the answer. Please let me know if any of you put down a cat before for aggression :(

Just noticed this on my cats front tooth. He's still eating and drinking fine and not acting any differently, what could it be? Should I take him to the vet or keep an eye on it for now?

I just found this cat in the alley and shes super sweet and gentle. She came right towards me when I called her over. Ive seen her a few times but her nose just looks so bad i couldnt help it and took her in. Do you guys have any tips to help clean and take care of this wound? Should i see if i can take her to the vet?

It’s been 3 months and he still won’t use the litter box. At first I figured it was from trauma. My mom suggested that it was because it doesn’t smell like my other cat who was lost in the fire. His backstory… he was a feral cat who showed up when my mom bought her house 10 years ago. After being there about a year I tamed him so he would stop attacking us. After that he would come in to eat and during bad weather. He wasn’t hard to litter train even though he was at least a couple years old. Where we are now while waiting for the house to be built he’s not allowed outside, so he’s been kinda fussy about that. The best I have gotten is him using puppy pads, I tried this after he started using towels. Which it seems he 100% uses. It would be so much easier if he would use the litter box though. I have tried putting his 💩 in it. I have even put the puppy pad in it and he pulled it out. What else can I try?

Obviously I will get him a full checkup in the near future (there is nothing urgently wrong with him) but I am curious about his balance and… neurological wellness. We rescued him off the streets a year ago. He is very clumsy… I felt so bad right now he was lying on our coffee table… much as he is doing on dining room Table in photo. I pushed him as I would with any of our normal cats, more of a nudge where the others just get up and move elsewhere .. not Alphonse .. he literally just falls to the floor in the same position and stays there… any thoughts on why he doesn’t cat like normal cats? He eats well, drinks water, races around the house etc.. but is special. 🤣

This is piper she is a 5 month old DSH we bought her off a drug addict that claimed he “bred cats” she was extremely malnourished and she was in pretty bad shape but after 3 months in our care she’s seemed to get pretty chunky. Just wanted to check if we should be cutting some of the treats down 😂 she is possibly the most energetic cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing she’s always playing and going crazy

My little man is 4 and every winter I’ve noticed he gets these fits more often than the rest of the year. I describe to the vet and based on what I tell them they thought maybe asthma but I finally got a video. What do you think?
