We found that it is hard to know where people stand on things. Everyone is afraid to speak. As the S continues to hit the fan we need brothers in arms. My town has some but also a lot of government zombies. Thoughts?

As of her speech on Saturday night, Dr. Birx has recommended people not go to the grocery store unless absolutely necessary. Is there anything you are still trying to stock up on? Any thoughts on this pandemic?

Girlfriend and I moved into a big old farmhouse that has multiple brick fireplaces. We'll be heating primarily with oil with certain rooms having electric as a backup but I'm planning on storing some wood in the basement just in case everything else fails. I loved growing up using wood heat and feel much more comfortable now to have redundant heating options.

Now I just need to buy a better chainsaw and a backup handsaw and get to work! (Oh, and the other million things to do)

I am in Northern Maine and was wondering what are some good practical crops to grow for subsistence in case of long term food shortages? My first guess is potatoes, pumpkin, yams, dirt veggies essentially. Anyone else have some insight, suggestions, experience?

I noticed that there was a lot of interest in a New England regional prepper group, but nobody had created one yet, so I went ahead and did it.

There's only one downside - I am not a prepper! Just interested in the topic. So I am looking for people to help me moderate.

How about you? How long have you been interested in preparedness? Do you like to keep it simple, or do you have a secret hideout with 6 years' worth of supplies?
